After installing the new fuel pump a couple of weeks ago, this week, I start to smell gas in the engine compartment after driving for 15 minutes. No fuel leaks around the pump or lines. What could be happening? After I got home from work this afternoon, I look around the engine compartment and I smell a small amount of fuel. No leaks around the lines or odor evap canister. I shine a light on the rail and find the #3 fuel injector's upper o-ring has started to leak. The injector is wet with fuel. I pressure tested the rail with the new injectors with a fuel pump capable of delivering 60 pounds of pressure before installation. This leak just started last week.

I suppose the increased pressure from the new pump delivered just enough pressure to push the o-ring (or whatever) over the edge. The engine runs fine. The leak is small. It will just take away a weekend day that I don't have at the moment to resolve it. Damn it.

Nope.. Wouldn't matter on a DIY job anyway. I'm just glad that I caught it before I took a long drive and it started a fire.
