If the price held you back than why sweat it? I got a 2WD SR5 V6 for $33.6k out the door. I had some buyers remorse for not getting a 4WD or a TRD, but I was also on a budget.

Then I had a coworker get a 4WD Off-road, and he paid $43k out the door. That made me realize I made the right choice.

I'm sorry you don't know what a Roth IRA is haha. Have fun being in debt until you die over MOAR MODS or whatever

So you tell someone to sell a vehicle they just purchased and take a large hit financially to do so, and then tell them to just put more money in a Roth without knowing anything about their financial portfolio but I don’t know what I’m talking about? Ok got it, that makes sense...

Many years ago I made a mistake with my first Tacoma and got a PreRunner. I was able to get what I paid for it in trade towards a 4x4 OR by going to a different dealer across town. It took a few weeks of negotiating and walking away several times, but they eventually made the deal.

You don’t know until you try. You might be able to work out a deal where you don’t lose much money.

take a drive to atlanta. you can get better prices here. Alot of the things you miss on your truck are easily installed. but if v6 is a sticking point dont invest any money in it and get yourself into a V6 tacoma. i saw V6 non 4x4 going for 27s when i was looking

Anyone who has 2.7 willing to volunteer? Would like to see how tough this cast iron block actually is.

That bastard is pretty tough tho.

Stick with it, don't make mistake of overextending. Keeping up with the Joneses is a losing proposition. Trucks, houses, everything. Live within your means and be happy with it

The SR 4 cylinder is a great engine and value if it will do everything you need it to... I was going to buy an SR but dealer wouldn't come down at all from the roughly $26k price. Another dealer came down to $31,700 on a new TRD OR so I figured I might as well get everything I want for $5k more. $36k for a sr5 is obnoxious and deff not worth 11k more than what you paid. Even a TRD shouldn't cost that much after you do some haggling.

I do find it funny that SR owners dog-pile in. If the OP has regrets in stock form throwing money at it isn't going to change the love. It's like getting a breast augmentation and some laser skin resurfacing for a wife you already hate.

I kind of regret having my first gen repainted. I should have just sold it instead of trying to convince myself I wanted to keep it longer

I see it more of a "take a deep breath and relax" for the OP.

He had valid reasons for getting the SR, and it is a very capable truck.

Some people here are trying to talk him off the ledge so he doesn't make a rash decision, imo.

If he thinks it through and decides to make the switch to a V6, more power to him... literally.

Yeah. Little high on the price. I paid 34 for a new 4x4 OR DCSB back in June.
