I got my center console torn out and started to play with the wiring, but it got a little dark in the driveway. So, I decided to spend my time tonight working on the bezel and outlet. I'll get back to hooking up the wires tomorrow.

I did end up cutting away the entire "shelf?" on the backside of the console panel.
Pro tip: put painters tape on the ENTIRE panel before you start in with the dremel. 2 layers if you can. My hand is covering 2 small blemishes from the lock collar on the dremel tool.
I did not cover enough of the panel before I started.
It's not bad and a little back sharpie and some dirt from rear passengers and it will bend away into history.
But, if you are looking for pristine... cover the whole thing before your start

pretty well. There is a small gap when the curvature of the panel changes. if you star with a small opening and trim to fit, you can get a pretty nice fit. You will have to press hard to get the snap features to full engage.

When you start laying it out, You have to be careful because the bezel has "horns" on the top, that slide back behind the panel when you mount it. You have to center the bezel so they sit below a couple of snap features on the back of the panel. Don't cut the snap features off. You need them when you snap the panel back into place with the center cubby. The latch to the rear cup holder feature. I will post up a few pics in a couple minutes.

I literally just tried mine without trimming the backside. I fit it in between the protrusions on the back. It did not like the curve. I think I may just mount the stuff on its own straight through that piece.

The wiring though is about 30 seconds.

I have some extra work with the manual transmission. That's why I am waiting till tomorrow to start into it.

EDIT: After a quick test drive, no extra wiring needs. Make sure you get a good ground on the red wire, and everything else is taken care of in the PNP harness.

It's all good: in neutral or in gear, clutch in or out, open driving or with cruise control. 400 Watts on demand. Thanks again @KTJO 4x4

It turned out nice. Maybe I'll try again. I would've cut all that crap on the back, but I wasn't sure if it was needed.

yeah the latches at the top are needed. I have no idea what that goofy angled shelf is for. But it definitely interfered with the bottom of the bezel. I started out trimming a little at a time, but in the end, it's all gone.

That has a built in transformer/converter for USB outlets? No need to tap into the power outlet in the storage compartment for the DC?

I agree. This one only took a 2" hole. Other than requiring a little splicing I think it comes out better than the factory parts.

Not quite. Check the schematics and pictures on p. 1. There is a black wire that goes to ground. The little plug has a blue wire and a white wire. White is neutral and blue is power.
