Yeah that force always pushing against the pinion bearing of the diff and output bearing of the t-case. Granted if runnerman grease was squeezing out of the splines than the pressure wasn't staying trapped in the grease cavity of the shaft. So he got lucky there. But yes you can cause those bearings to fail prematurely.
But you can always just take a little 6mm socket and remove the zerk and drive over a curb to push that excess pressure out if it's a concern and you want to be safe

Greasing the zerks on the driveshaft is part of proper driveshaft maintenance

Dude, PG&E just stated they will be shutting off power where I'm at as well as south of me.

Scheduled to go off at 10pm and could last up until Monday.

I got a few of those blankets to do exactly that with (work on my truck) but after a few uses they start shedding like crazy...I ended up looking like I was growing patches of dark black hair all over me after I use them lol. It's not so bad if you flip them over though.

Lately we've had so many cardboard boxes in the house from baby stuff that I've started cutting up those to use... works pretty good though not as soft as a blanket.

Has anyone here ever used the playing cards to protect tires from getting paint on them? How’d it go?

This is the tricky part that you can't skip that really makes it all work. You don't want pressure to build up in the cylinder to put unnatural stress on the joints. I like the mini guns because I get a better feel for when they start to get resistance from back pressure. That some of the guesswork out of knowing when you are about to cross the threshold for injecting too much grease.

I didn't do that, but rather than waste a deck of playing cards I cut some paper bags up into squares and used those. Worked well

I've used index cards with a slight trim to match the wheel diameter. Once you make a pattern card with the right curve, then cut the others to match and tape them all together in a circle around the wheel.

If you really want to make sure that no over spray gets on any part of the tire, there is some kitchen drawer liner paper that you can get at Walmart with a mild adhesive backing. It sticks to the surface and won't move while you are painting. It works way better than using paper and tape to wrap something before painting.

I'm seeing in the news the wildfires are getting REAL bad. Sucks bad for you guys man
How does shutting the power off help with getting the fires contained and eliminated? Anyone know? I'm sure someone has heard or knows

I prefer the nice big cardboard boxes as well. Makes it a lot easier for the sliding under :D

From what I've heard on the radio they can't prove that the shut offs have prevented any fires so they can't say for sure (can't prove something that never happened). But they expect the shutoffs to continue every fire season for at least the next decade until the power lines and equipment are all upgraded

Naw, she's in the other direction.

South would be Chualar, Soledad, etc.

Dude, I get out at 8..9...10? It'll be midnight if I get to your place, and I got work tomorrow again
