In that picture, it has no lift at all it was stock with 285/70/17. With plastic trimming, CMC, and hammered pinch weld it worked offroad with only rubbing on hard hits. It is now lifted and will hopefully have 35s or 37s on it in December/January

IDK if it's true or not but my Advanced Auto guy told me "if the grease is red, it's the good stuff". Take that for what very little it's worth. I've used Valvoline strictly because when I went in to buy it was on sale for buy 1 get 1 free. These 2 tubes will probably last me the next 5 years.

I have the mini Lucas grease gun and the Lucas Red-N-Tacky and X-tra 3 packs are the only tubes that I have found that fit in them. I did some research back when I bought it about the different kinds of grease and both of those had whatever was recommended for the U-joints.

    https://www.homedepot.com/p/Lucas-Oil-3-oz-Lubricant-3-Pack-10315/202521531

I wish now that I had bought the full size grease gun because those little 3oz packs don't last very long.

All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
There is some truth to that. You will also never get the smell off your hands ;)

I asked a millwright at my work today and he said the same thing about the red grease being good for needle bearings.

Someone else I know uses that Lucas stuff too.

I use Lucas Red n Tacky. I switched to it several years ago, after learning about the products Lucas manufactures.

    It is really good stuff.

I think the NLGI designation is what classifies it as automotive grease. Both the red and the green grease by Lucas have it and say they are specifically formulated for "Automotive Wheel Bearing and Chassis Lubricant."

While I prefer to stick with one kind of grease and not mix them, I can only find it in those little 3 packs. So I try to just stay consistent with which one I use. i.e. I'll use both reds, then the green. Next pack, I'll use the green before using the 2 reds. Truck almost has 150k on the clock. I replaced U-joints a few thousand ago only because I was doing the center support bearing and figured it was cheap insurance to go ahead and replace. Aside from being covered in grease, all my u-joints looked new.

I need new front wheel bearings installed. Can bring jack, jackstands, money for food...etc. I'm an old-timer and have never done the job before.

Is this a job that could get done? Just tell me what I need to bring,

Iirc most people buy them already pressed onto the hubs? via a guy on TW. If not, you have to push the old hubs out, then put new bearings back on which sounds like no big deal until you try it on rusty used stuff...a lot easier to buy a new assembly hence the popularity of it.

Swapping out a hub/bearing assembly shouldn't be a big deal.

If I'm around when mod day happens I have a Dewalt impact i can contribute to the cause as well as some wrench turning ability.

Edit, i searched for it and looks like that vendor is no longer doing it...and/or banned. But I would buy the hub/bearing pre-assembled or get them separately and have a shop press them together for you if there is not a press available. They can be a pain with a harbor freight style press that can flex.
