Will this work in an SR?

 

Does the SR have the outlet in the bed? If so, this will work. If not, then I assume it does not have the inverter under the center console and will not work.

 

Is there an outlet out there with a dual 120 and 12v connector for the back handrest ? or would it require some kind of voltage converter of some kind ?

Tap into to the power port in the storage compartment. Yellow is positive, connect it to the red wire for the USB. White w/blk is negative, connect it to the black wire for the USB , or connect the black USB to the chassis ground next to the inverter.

Yes. You can do that

 

I would follow the link that gives the instructions on how to remove your center console and check your converter plug. If it is the same, then I don’t see why not. Worse case, you tell me it doesn’t and you send it back for a refund

Cigarette Lighter will work since they are right there.

 

Package 1 is the PNP Harness for the Inverter and then the PNP Harness for the Outlet. In order to wire up the USB you will need to tap into your cigarette lighter wires. The yellow and white wires. Yellow is positive. That goes to the orange wire. White is negative. That goes to the black wire.

 

You can still get it when I release them after my vendor gets them made.

A couple more pictures:
I snipped off the connector for the power outlet in the storage compartments, and connected it to the wires from the USB outlet.

Then, when I re-installed the storage compartment, I connected back to the original yellow and white w/blk wires.

Then I put some heat shrink on it for good measure.

After that, I tidied up the routing and re assembled the rest of the center console..

 

I've looked and can't find an answer,

Does anyone know if a dual usb port is available, for the square holes below the AC knobs in a 13. Don't want to lose a 12v socket.

 

I found one on Amazon. It's actually one "data" port and one charging port. I just received it yesterday, so I don't know anything about the quality. But it's really one of the few items I've found that'll fit down there. I have an alternate solution for one USB port on the way, but I won't steer people that way until I know it fits in the center stack.

Edit: Just realized you have a 2nd gen. So I don't know. The above are what people refer to as the Toyota short switch.

 

The fitment refers to the size of the charger. They offer two different sizes, one that will fit the center console of the Tacoma and one that fits the side switch holders on the Tacoma. They are standard sizes and are the same for 2nd and 3rd Gen Tacomas.

 

Then the one I linked will work. I just got it last night and only verified fit. I know nothing else about it.
