    No, there is a lot of you with unreasonable expectations lol. Nothing is perfect. Especially when it only.costs $40K. Now, if you paid $500K for a vehicle? Then I would bitch if my bumper was crooked.

    But 40k to one is 500k to another. All vehicles have gotten out of control with price increases over the years.

    Just do it yourself instead of wasting your time at the dealer. Align the bed to the cab and then the bumper to the bed. I did it on my own and it wasn’t bad at all. 35-45min and all was done.

    True, but if you bought two cans of spray paint, one costing $1 and one costing $9, would you have the same expectations?

    This has got to be my favorite post across the board to date! and it perfectly sums up 75% of the posts (at least in the 3rdgen)

    don’t get me wrong I’m pretty bad with ocd BUT I’m not going to complain about my hood not being flush with the fenders in a thread or go to the dealer to “fix it”. If you have ocd then you’ll also already know that if you want it done right your better off doing it yourself (especially if it’s something small and minor). so I’ll search for related threads so I’m not “that guy” making anotherrrrrrrrr thread. Then if I don’t find it on the first 2 pages (blame it on the bs threads made daily) I’ll make one asking on steps to fix/adjust it. Btw it was super simple turning the knob/stopper thing until the hood was flush with the fender

    Yes, because spray paint is spray paint , and a vehicle is just a vehicle when it comes down to it. Lol

    If you or a friend are suffering from Gaposis, you can now join a class action lawsuit for pain and suffering by the wrong doings of others. Lolol

    What about the rattle ball inside? How about the nozzle? The propellant? Those are failure points of spray cans.
    I don't know about you but if my dollar can sprays shitty, well ok. But if my nine dollar can has a rattle ball that is stuck, then I'm pissed.
    My point is the average new vehicle cost $38K last year. That's about what a Tacoma costs. The quality assembly of a Tacoma is better than most of vehicles in that price range but not the level of something hand built by ICON for example that costs 10X the price of a Tacoma. Pretty sure you cannot find a mistake on one of their vehicles.

    I had to level my 3rd gen bumper twice..There’s a thread on this site with a link on replacing a Tacoma bumper. I followed the steps and easily evened the bumper out. From what I remember, you need to remove the electrical harnesses and rear license plate lights from bumper, pop off the rear bumper step cover and loosen a few bolts under and in the bumper. It took me approx 30-40 min.

    I have that too, told my dealer twice and they just said. “No adjustment for the bumper”
    One month later I haven’t even really bought about it. Not sure if my bed isn’t right or what but I don’t really care to find out

    Interesting. I'll have to check mine. I wonder if that's the reason I can't rely on my mirrors to back up into a parking spot. Get it right in one mirror, crooked in the other...repeat, repeat, repeat.

    I would think for 40k would get you something that would not have funny looking off center bumper, but that is just me. Then again what the hell do i know? If you are going to drive it over boulders the size of rocks next week maybe it does not matter anyway.

    Had 2 3rd generation Tacomas a 17 and now a 19. My 17 had a tailgate that was just about touching on one side and the 19 has the bumper misaligned. No easy fix for tailgate misalignment other then trying to bend and scratch shit like the dealer did. Bumper misaligned doesn't bother me, but tailgate looked like crap. If you walk around a dealership looking at the Tacomas, you might find 2 or 3 out of 20 that are close to perfect. The rest will either have tailgate misaligned or the bumper.

    Just got my Tacoma back from the dealer for bumper misalignment. It was only an 1/8” off from one side to the other but my OCD was getting the best of me. They went above and beyond fixing it so I am very pleased;

    Dealer spent over $1k on parts and invoiced warranty for $1455.67;

    That's some inflated pricing I just took mine off shimmed up one side took me about 40 minutes and used two metal washers nowhere near a $1,500 fix but at least you didn't pay for it and you got a good-looking bumper.
