Safe to Drill Here?

Looking to install two 3/4 inch KC light switches.

 

Maybe one on each side of the cubie? Or two on the left side?

How do you remove the cubie panel and what's it called?

 

Found a video on that panel. Doesn't look lile the safest place to Drill....

 

Why not go wireless? No drilling or shaping the holes needed. Relay and light wiring is all under the hood. Only thing in the cab is a remote.

$15 on Amazon.

 

We're 30 years from that technology being real AND I ALREADY GOT THE DRILL OUT!!!

 

Why drill a hole? Ditch that useless cubby... what fits in there anyway? This panel is from @CaliRaisedLed and the switches are from CH4X4. Mine are wired up to Rigid lights but I can’t see why it wouldn’t work with KC. Looks much cleaner than a hole drilled, actually looks almost factory. I also have a Relay holder under hood from @ragofabrication all told there’s gotta be less than $50 worth of parts.

 

@grubburg I did that before I put in a switchpro. I liked it pretty well and if you laid it out better I think could get 3 switches. I used a 3/4 forstner bit in the drill press and a small file to cut the groove. Super discreet and I could still wedge my wallet int the cubby.

 

ok..... I still like my switches but that is admittedly SUPER freaking cool. +100 for creativity.
