I stayed up and watched the game also.Big Nats fans here.we get all the reg. season games on tv so its easy to follow them, we took a whoppin last nite. this week is peak leaf color for us then the real leaf work begins for us.

The days of the family farm and working for $1 an hour to shovel manure, straw and lime into the manure spreader are long over. Food lots now use manure pits AKA manure pools. They have to be kept below a certain level as rain water will cause them to overflow and then become an environmental hazard. To do that they need to be pumped into a septic truck just like a septic tank does.



From an Engineering stand point it means the pump has acid resistant seals and can pump semi solids. Tractor Supply. Fleet Farm. Or Farm and Fleet carries them.

So then what happens to the waste once a septic tank or manure pool is pumped? Friend of mine has a farm with fields along the flood plains of the Mississippi River. Rich river bottom soil as it is already. He has several septic companies come in and dump them there and has extremely high corn and beans yields from his fields...

Since going to the Instant Pot never use my crock pot anymore. I can use the IP as a slow cooker also and will for my annual tater tot casserole at work soon. I do a lot of beef stews and sear the meat on the grill first usually prime grade sirloin instead of stew meat. But even roasts and while not "instant" can have a roast beef dinner done in less than an hour all in the IP. Including the gravy.



Love my Instant Pot no matter what mode it is in.

 

Nice but in my case an hour is to long.
We need to walk in the door and eat...
