I second this. I regularly drive on the old mining trails here in South West Colorado. With being conscious of wheel placement, I haven't had any issue with the long bed "lower break angle".

Double cab short beds look funky.

Tires are too close to the cab.

Short bed here, wish I got a long bed Unfourtantley I haul a lot more often than I thought I would. Haven’t had an issue where a long bed would’ve mad a huge difference. Nothing Ratchet straps can’t fix and if needed a trailer . GL

Though the long-bed is more functional I prefer the looks of the short bed so that's what I purchased. Now "IF" I hauled more (and long material when I did), then I may have purchased a long bed.

Longbed here ... to me the proportions just look better and since I don’t do any “extreme” off-roading the longbed is more practical.

It’s my Semi-Pro! I wanted the pro because IMO, they just look awesome but don’t come in the longbed for obvious reasons. So I’ve decided to create my own OR version. I started with a fully optioned OR and all I’m missing now is the headlights (I like the OR taillights better) and the hood. I’ll get there eventually.

Neither bed size works for my needs. I bought a utility trailer to tow behind for occasional trips to the dump or Home Depot.

I had a five foot bed in my previous truck and ran into enough issues where in my next truck a six foot bed was high on my list of what I wanted in my next vehicle.

The six foot bed has served me well since I've gotten it and I've thought how it's well worth it for the times I've used it.

However there have been times where I've had issues with finding parking both in crowded places and just places with small parking spots. With the Tacoma DCLB being my daily driver, I kind of wonder if it makes sense having a daily driver that isn't convenient in some places I go to. For the most part you learn to adjust and adapt to things but some things can't be avoided. You might already be used to it with your full size truck because they might not be too far off in length?

The five foot bed probably met my purposes 90 percent of the time. It's that few times that it didn't that was frustrating and made me want a bigger bed. The six foot DCLB probably meets my purposes 95 percent of the time. It's really great and it has crossed my mind that I've been able to do things with it that I wouldn't have been able to do with my five foot bed. But even then there are times a six foot bed doesn't suit the need every time. And it also brings up other issues with it's longer wheel base.

There was a period where I said I'd never get a short bed Tacoma. But with one of the tightest turning radiuses out of the midsize trucks when I last looked, I imagine it must be pretty fun to drive. So may end up considering one down the road.

Thanks ... I prefer the glossy black look (when they’re clean) to the matte finish of the 4 Runner TRD Pro wheels that a lot of people have.

I’ve owned both a short bed and a king bed, the experience is different for everyone but for me the 6 footer is a no brained. I do trails often and still feels the trade off is worth it.

I got the long bed truck. As stated before the SB looks really weird, reminds me of the short school buses we all made fun of. Also my snowboard would not fit in the short bed.

LB. Nice to be able to full extend and sleep in the bed if I wish. Sex too, very convenient lol.

Only “con” is anything less than 35s with a long bed and the tires look a little small IMO. This pic is at a perfect angle, but in person most would agree with the above aesthetics wise.
