They are more like the Amish, work harder. 2nd Gen was MT. 3rd Gen AT. I don't miss clutching and shifting in traffic anymore. You can't hold a claw in one hand and 4x4 in the other with a MT.

That was my reasoning, too, except more along the lines of self trauma care. I had a 6 speed second gen and many other manual cars. I have driven different cars in high stress scenarios wearing full gear with a rifle in my footwell trying to navigate an unfamiliar area while working the radio. I was thrilled they were automatic every time. Probably won't do that in my Taco, but the mindset persists.

More practically, we go way out when we go camping, and we are almost always alone. I need the wife to be able to drive efficiently.

Ehh, I’ve owned plenty of sporty cars that were manual. By all means, do you, but it’s not like you’re heel toeing on some twisty back road in a Tacoma.

having an auto also means the wife can DD...

This state sucks big ole Savannah cat balls. As soon as I’m done saving for a home in the next couple years I’ll be waving goodbye to this tax ridden state.

Very untrue. It’s the smallest center console out of any truck I’ve been in - it’s perfect
For road head even with my 110lb fiancé
