Onan is a good brand. I’d totally rock one. Just realized the noise would be a issue though.

My favorite part is that it can do three phase. I can run ALL the shop equipment!

Only if you run the loudest compressor in history, and can pay to keep it filled with diesel as it sucks it down

You could surround it with panels of something or put in a shed, etc to help muffle but not sure how much it'd work. Might be surprising

I think you'd be fighting heat then. One compressor at my work makes a room the size of my garage uncomfortable. Can't imagine a big diesel running in it.

What you need is a rotary phase converter.

Yeah and I'm just guessing, haven't been close to one. No experience with anything that size

Yeah they get toasty haha. We built a new compressor shed at work this summer and the new compressor that went in it allows for ducting to be ran out of the exhaust. All the hot air is blown outside now. Its actually quite comfortable in there now. And Ive got quite the heater to stand under in the winter time...

I wish ours blew into a place where you could stand near it. We have sort of a ghetto system, it's just an outlet that is switched by a thermostat to turn on an exhaust fan. Doesn't blow anywhere useful though and I'm not even sure where fresh air can come in from.

Elevator rooms get super hot. Just had to install a mini split in one to keep it cold so they could run the elevators

I believe it, those huge HV breakers and massive electric motors probably get real toasty. We had to have a couple mini split systems in our server room at my high school back in the day.

I’d need like a crane or a forklift to move it too. That thing has to weigh at least a ton.

    That's only 2000lbs, I bet it's a few tons

What I really want is that Generac standby generator @Empty_Lord has. It does 20kW on natural gas. They’re expensive though.
