Just buy a little 9hp generator like me thats 500$ and be fine. Run what you need. Probably use it once a year at most

 

With the state of PG&E I suspect that’s going to be far more than once a year.

Why are you buying a generator for your parents house if you arent gonna be living there in a few years? I totally get having a small one to run your tools off of in a pinch. But buying a whole house generator for a place that isnt even yours? Sorry, that makes absolutely zero sense to me.

 

My parents need power too, not just me. There are other people who live in this house besides myself.

 

All that’s really needed is something that can run the essentials for a long period of time incase of a power outage like im having

 

Or build you a generator ain't that hard.

 

Yeah, lemme just go run to Pick-n-Pull and grab 20 alternators.

 

Their house= Their problem. Why should you have to pay for it if youre gonna be moving out in a few years?

Do what @Sperrunner said and get something to run the essentials for $500

 

Make a water wheel in the nature reserve out front

 

That would work at 15 horsepower engine can do that

Or since he lives in California. Get some solar panels don't they give those away?

 

Buy a bunch of lemons

They're extremely expensive and he has a roof full of them

 

Be cheaper to buy a mobil home and run the generator off of that
