I was at a wedding in Granville yesterday, honestly the first one I've been to in probably about 21 years... Nice small wedding of about 60 people

If I could do it over again I'd rather have 50/60 people there. We had 130ish which is still relatively small, but of I could do it again it would not be that big.

Yea they were doing everything on a small budget, but it came out great! I do better with smaller crowds and I knew probably half the people there

We cap ourselves at 170, and we had 167 last night. They had fun, but the vibe is much more “party” with larger numbers we find. Once you hit 100 and under they get much more “family reunion” feel. I Enjoy both, but the smaller ones can be fun because they get much more intimate and we tend to connect with those families more.

Well this crowd was family on one side, and a group of friends on the other side. So we had 20-30 people and its all people that have known each other for at least 6 years or more. Plenty of partying went on at the reception haha

Just went on a Chemical Guys tear. Got lots of detailing products coming. This truck obviously lived a little more of a commercial life and has some paint issues. Truck’s getting a full detail either later this year or in the spring. Can’t wait to see the new black truck shine!

The Hydroslick? I just watched a bunch of videos on it and it looked disappointing, seemed to wear off very quickly in the tests other detailers performed. Looked like initial results were good. Their V07 looked good but I went with their Black Light for the finish product. I got a clay kit, a swirl and scratch corrector and the black light finishing wax along with a wheel brush and some microfiber so to complete the job.

I wanted to like the Hydroslick, seemed neat but ultimately not worth the money in my opinion (or based on the reviews I guess).

I love some BBQ, but I think I would take seafood over BBQ. I would mourn for months tho.

Just did tour of Spain and Iceland, and had some of the most amazing seafood. In Spain, it was all about the oil cured anchovies, bacalao and fresh raw mussels. In Iceland, it was the white fish — especially the cod we had at the Blue Lagoon. I was raised on Delmarva, so I have always had a taste for it. My wife, a midwestern valkyrie/mermaid has a hard time with seafood but she loved the white fish.

Unrelated to the topic... the cured reindeer was pretty good too.

Sounds like a blast of a trip!!! I wouldn't have gone out to eat with you at all though! Never was a seafood guy.

Got a few favorite pics from the trip to put up?

I just spent about 5 fucking hours getting my truck ready for the winters in the North East. Started with their strip soap, followed by the clay bar treatment. I used the ceramic HydroStuff after application and then "Better Butter Wax" and "V07 quick detailer" (to create some layers of protection). Of course, it pissed for like a day straight after and I think the hydro slick is doing well. It is very strong in odor but I like the results so far. I am going to see how it does over time. I think the best thing they sell might be the jet seal.

This was an amazing piece in the Musee d,Orsay, which we visited in Paris. It’s huge and was part of a striking set of three paintings commemorating the artist mother.

Oh yeah! It was so tender, the best I’ve had. Apparently they herd all their sheep up into the mountains in the spring, and then round them up in fall and harvest the lambs.

I was torn between the Black Light and the Jet Seal product they offer. I was almost sold on the HydroSlick until I started researching it. It seemed like it was more of a pain to apply than their other coatings (like if you let it dwell for a little too long, you really had to buff it to get the haze out), it was more expensive and the longevity of just the HydroSlick by itself seemed abysmal. I watched a few tests of it where they hosed it off twice and water stopped beading on it already. The way you did it I think its the way to go, HydroSlick followed by some real wax or sealant. I want to be done after the sealant layer (wash, clay, polish and seal/wax) so I wanted more of an all-in-one. I know it's not perfect, but it's far from a show car and will still look much better than it does now.

Anybody ever use speed bleeders for doing brakes? I have a set I need to install before winter. I think I have water in the lines since on sub 0 mornings the brakes will be frozen.

I had them on a motorcycle a long time ago. I find a Mighty-Vac is way better.

Nope, but I've kept the reservoir topped off and cracked the bleeders to let gravity do the job for me.
