I’ve had my 2019 Manual Transmission for almost 2 months and am having some confusion with the door locks. As I understand the typical settings found in an automatic don’t apply to my truck.

Here is what’s happening - I go out in the morning, double tap open on the fob so I can throw my work bag in the backseat. Hop in and drive. Never hit the door lock button. I arrive at my destination and the rear doors are locked, causing me to have to hit the fob to unlock to get my bag out, even though I never locked the door. Seems to happen on both rear doors. However it doesn’t seem to happen all of the time.

Can anyone weigh in on this? Am I missing something in the owners manual that explains this.

There are door lock settings in the settings part of the head unit. You can choose to have the doors lock and or stay unlocked at certain speeds...etc

Doors lock automatically once you go above a certain speed.

Thanks - I thought it was only on the automatics but apparently I’m off on that. I’ll try and pay attention to it next time I drive to hear them lock.

It's super annoying. Doors lock after 14mph, and then if you don't open the driver door before a certain amount of time it won't unlock the other doors. It's probably like 15 or 30 seconds. So if you sit in your truck before opening your door, the other doors will remain locked.

The number of times I walk to the passenger door, then have to walk back to the driver door to unlock it is absurd.

I think I was able to figure this out with the settings on the radio today. I have it set to unlock with driver door, so once I open my door, all the doors unlock.

    Thank you everyone.

In case you want to get deeper into the weeds with the dealer only customizations, the Carista app can help. If you buy their Bluetooth OBD adapter (about $20), you get 1mo free full access. Otherwise, you can download TechStream below and hook up with your own adapter or cable.

I just went to change some things in carista the other day. I haven't used it in years, when I bought it it was a one-time fee for life, now I have to pay more? Bastards!

They had a lot of version updates in the past year or so. The change for you might have been an accident? I would toss them a message. They have been pretty responsive for me in the past.

Also, a lifetime subscription should be just that as long as your on the same account. You might want to ping the App Store or Google Play if they are messing with you.

I know @dilbert has a lifetime subscription. Any recent issues?

I used it two weeks ago to turn off the passenger seat buzzer so I didn't have to buckle up for my backpack on the seat. I also set the PCS system to remember the last state. No issues changing either.

I'll be bummed if I lose my lifetime subscription.

    Thanks for the confirmation.

It sounds like a minor goof up on Carista's end for @friendlywithbears .

Nothing on my receipt says lifetime though... so I suppose there wouldn't be much I could do if they took it away. $20 was a heck of a deal though...

Great that's exactly what I got. For some reason last time I tried to use the app it was missing a bunch of options that I know are available (like disabling recirculation by default). Maybe they just stopped supporting some options.

I think things are hidden in sub menus more than in earlier versions. It should always show all the options available, it just won't let you save them if you don't have a subscription.

when I took a snapshot back on 05/26/2016, these were the HVAC functions available:

Huh. How the heck did I change it then...could have sworn it was carista. Was so nice not having it automatically come on all the time, and then I unplugged my battery for 24 hours and it suddenly has a mind of its own.

Or am I the crazy one...ha...ha ha...

    Ha...
