    Ok brahs I need advices.

I was pretty proud of myself this week. Logged over 40 miles total and I got 17 in over this weekend.
I also added about 30% more volume to my lift days.
Feeling good, recovering well, great energy especially considering adhering strictly to keto this week.

Got off work today and hit the gym for the hot tub. Was getting in and as I kneeled down I felt I was pretty close to blowing out my knee.
    Painful and swollen now.

I’m pretty pissed. I don’t like being limited. Especially when I feel so good.
I wanted to be logging some decent mileage presurgery so I can bounce back as fit as possible. But my goal is to not have knee replacement surgery.

Anywho to make a long story even longer I’m going to swap to focusing more on strength and lifting. I’ll do what cardio I can and hopefully I can just back down to where I was last week and be pain free.

I am hesitant to do Wendler because I cannot deadlift heavy. I’m nervous about doing the program omitting deads.
I hate changing peoples programs because it makes them overall less effective. Plus no deads is slashing a pretty paramount lift.

    What do you powerlifters think?

Any other programs you recommend that may allow for no deads?

Who knows I may find out I can’t lift super heavy either but I’ll ease in very slowly.

Slow mile before bed, at about .6 my lower back got tight and hurt when running. I’m not sure if it’s due to my mattress/box spring being on the floor or if my mattress got flipped around during the move, it’s felt a little odd since we moved but nothing this noticeable.
I also got on a schedule with Run keeper, I’m supposed to run Wed, Fri, and Sunday.

Facing knee replacement at 28? Is that why you can’t deadlift heavy, or is there another reason for that?

you sound real damn beat up for being 28.

I said my goal wasn’t to get a knee replacement.

Meniscus injuries are permanent injuries. The cartilage does not heal. Each time it tears it increases the risk of osteoarthritis in the future. If I’m screwing around now and I tear it further than it is I just increase that knee replacement risk for when I’m older.

I’m getting a meniscus tear “repaired” via surgery in January. Between now and then I am limited in what I can do. I just have to limit those activities that cause pain and right now kneeling under load = pain.

I can dead lift post surgery but not at the moment.

I’m not beat up at all. I keep having random ass injuries pop up but I’m more physically capable than nearly anyone I know.
Most people sit on the couch and eat bonbons.

Why not just wait till it’s fixed and you’re 100% before starting a serious lifting block. No point in fucking it up even more between now and January

As long as I’m pain free I’m cool to continue.
Obviously I can bench and OHP and squats are fine.
Squats so far are fine as long as I’m paralell.

Like I said I’m not gonna throw 405 on the bar and go for it. I’m easing in.
The upper body stuff is obviously not an issue.

And maybe thats the answer is just do bench, rows, and OHP.

I just don’t want to get unbalanced by doing squats and no DL. Thats my question.

Why is everyone on here so anti-cross fit?

I’m watching Redeemed Fit and the shit they do is fucking awesome. I don’t like their pull ups but everything else seems fine to me.

I think because the majority of people who crossfit are idiots and are just trying to lift heavy things as fast as possible with no form whatsoever and they're "teaching" others. But I could be wrong. Maybe it's the exorbitant amount of money they charge people to do it? I dunno.

Ok walk into any gym and you will see many people lifting with improper form. Thats not unique to cross fit.

But in competitions they have judges watching your every move. If you fuck up you have to start over.

I’ve never done it but I would like to. Its on my bucket list.

But the exchanging of ignorance environment and clowning around is found everywhere LOL
