Same reason you stake down a tent, to keep it from moving around. And in case it does get windy at night I don’t want it folding in on me.

    What is this tent?
Can it hold sleeping bags/pillows inside when folded?

iKamper Skycamp...I have not experimented a lot with folding up bedding. I have read that people do it, needs to be pushed to the correct spot, like I said, I haven't messed with it much. This past weekend I left one bag and one pillow in it and it worked. I would find it hard to believe I could do that with my family of 4 though.

I want this tent but in mini. The full size skycamp would overhang with my half height rack :(

    Like, so many.
How would you connect that without the trifold? Would it just butt up to the cab?

You definitely can just put it up against cab - mine isn't connected to try fold in any way, it is just pulled tight against it and is connected to the wheels or sliders depending how far I want it up or back.

You could very easily just have it taught across your besides and the bed, connected to your wheels, with no issues at all.

I think with some mosquito netting, this could work for a my camping set up.

Yes it's big/long. My wife wanted the kids to sleep with us, we get all 4 but I have a long bed and a shell so it overhangs on my cab with no worries. The smaller version looks cool as does a newer model they just released.

I purchased from a local dealer because he was willing to work with me on price as opposed to me ordering out of state. I got a good deal and have been extremely happy with the tent.
