I'm going to lift the front 2" and want to put 17" SCS wheels on, the 8.5" wide wheels all have the same offset and bs. Tires will be BFG K/O2.
Will the tires rub anywhere? I've seen many say they don't rub stock suspension and wheels. Does the offset of the wheels make the chance of rubbing worse?

If you have pics please post, thanks in advance. And yes, I have searched and searched again looking for an answer.

Here’s mine with 17” SCS Ray 10’s and BFG KO2’s 265/70/17. Only rub I get is if I come in hot to a driveway, tire rubs on air dam. No rub turning even at full lock. 87D00364-2CD1-4261-B07A-FB4C765C35FA.jpg

Nice looking truck. I guess I should have said mine is a 2015. Are the 2nd and 3rd Gen the same in regards to what fits in the wheel wells?

Any idea how much I can get for Bronze SCS Ray-10s. Have about 6 months of use on them.

Only rubs on air dam when at full turn and going up or down a hill or if I'm hauling ass lol. I would imagine you should be fine with lift, I'm trying to figure out a solution for my minuscule rub currently

Thanks. I am not sure if there is any change to the 2nd and 3rd Gen wheel wells. My guess is they would be the same.

Great! Thanks! I've been wanting to upgrade to a 32ish tire on my SR8s but couldn't find a lot of info on rubbing issues with stock height. I am glad to hear that it seems to be almost none... Most people that rub on the air dam take it off. I am planning on going 255s so even more peace of mind.

    Stealth 6 17X8.5 with 265/70/17 - no rubbing.

same wheels with BFG K02 285/70/17, 1 inch lift F/R. Rubs on the front and rear plastics halfway turned backing up or coming in hot on driveways. Clears the cab mount (barely).

Man, those 285s look much better. I am about to install a 2” lift on mine. This confirms I will be going to a 285.

Can you tell much difference in engine/transmission performance after making the change? I don’t really care about MPGs, I know thats going to go down.

Can't really tell if the extra weight of the tires affected the performance of my truck. Truck seems to handle it ok on my 12 miles commute to work with speed of 70-80 mph. I didn't notice any gear changes today when I'm on my desired speed. MPG wise, I used to get 17-18 all day with the 265 Hankook and today, I registered a constant 17.3 mpg. Just got the tires Saturday so I'm going to see after a week if it gets better. I got the load range C on the K02 since I don't do any off roading. Most of the rubbing is coming from the driver side, I suspect it's because of the slight "taco lean". Getting my CMC and some more trimming done this week just for good measures. I think 285 is the perfect tires for the 3rd gens with a small lift. My unsolicited advice if going with 285 is: Lift, CMC, wheel, tires and trim the plastics. Good luck.

I have not lifted yet and still running the 265/70/17 Wildpeaks. Just took off the 4Runner Pro wheels and installed the SCS SR8s a couple weeks ago.

Any idea how fitment compares from Tacoma to 4Runner? Want the same setup for my 2019 4Runner?
