I don't know why Mannheim keeps getting mentioned. If your truck was be valued off Mannheim's auction numbers you'd be super pissed. Mannheim is where car dealers buy inventory and not the general public. If you want a Mannheim number look up wholesale value which is likely the high twenties low thirties

My OTD price was $38k (listed $42K) and I have all the options as well and if I had 24k miles on mine and got about $34k from the insurance co I would be happy.

Find comparable vehicles for sale and present them to your insurance company to show what it will cost to replace it. CarGuru.com and search nationwide

I got a decent deal on mine as well, when new. you did well!

Out of curiosity, where are you located and what dealer?

I'm not trying to get anything unfair from insurance, I just want to have evidence that 1.) what they are offering is fair , or 2.) there is a more accurate settlement out there

I'm not trying be a wiseguy here, but if you ordered an uncommon combo, I would also expect there's a good chance it doesn't add value, rather not what the market wanted. So you may have to accept some of the risks, and order a new 2020, of course the additional costs will also net you a newer model year, zero miles, and possibly more options. In my opinion, it's not like they're offering you way less, just you can't find the combo you had, or maybe I have that all wrong. Either way, good on you for not accepting their first offer, doing homework, and pressing them - so good luck, I hope you find something.

While I don’t own a 3rd. I’ll assume you financed your truck, I’d say if you walk away not having to write a check to the bank out of your pocket you’ve done good. If you can get more and have some left over you’ve done really good. Since you bought a unicorn it’s up to you to prove it’s value, the insurance won’t do it for you, they’ve given you a number it’s up to you to prove them wrong.

i appreciate your point of view, i don't see it as being a wise guy at all.

In the end, they are offering to replace my truck, with the selections I made. Yes, it's uncommon but that's what I have and that's what was totaled.

I've thought about a 2020, but there are better deals to be had on 2019s, if you can find them. there are a handful left, I'll just have to spring for one.

If he's already accepted the total loss payout he's likely going to have a hard time getting more

yeah, i finance but put a lot down on it. I'll be able to walk into the dealership with about $13,600 ready for a purchase. That said, I want to walk in with as much as possible, as anyone would!

Because that’s what they do! They look at Mannheim and KBB or nada wholesale depending on the state. And you’d be surprised what Tacoma’s go for at auction! Well over what wholesale book would be.

The market says otherwise. 18's are now showing up as CPOs in the low 30's. Either the dealers selling them as loss leaders or that's what they're worth

Doesn’t seem too far off. Just north of you I bought my 2018 TRD OR 4x4 for $33,900 + tax. Mine is DCSB, black, fully loaded, with tech and premium packages. Had 5900 mile on it.
