    wonder why no rear slider?
my '95 single cab Toyota truck had NO A/C but it still had a rear slider to make the 105 degree summers a bit more bearable!

It's less Tacoma and more mod
Single cabs often had solid windows when poorly optioned.

Also @PennSilverTaco I got another one...

    Actually, I lied...

I'm pretty sure have seen a 2005-2008ish RC 5-lug 5-speed without air; It was Barcelona Red and I saw it in Kennebunkport, Maine a couple years in a row (my Grandma has a lake house about an hour from Kennebunk); I seem to remember looking through the window and seeing a blank spot where the A/C button would have gone.

@Speedytech7, is that white one yours?!?!

Nice!!! Also, I'm more surprised that I saw a 2WD pickup in Maine than one without A/C. Almost every truck and SUV in Maine is 4WD for obvious reasons, but I saw more vehicles without air in Maine and New Hampshire than just about anywhere else (Maine and New Hampshire tied, and Washington was a close second).

I really remember the summer of 1999 as when I really started paying attention to vehicles, and I spent a long time up in Maine at my Grandma's house that summer. Vehicles without A/C that I can remember seeing in Maine in 1999 (that I was shocked even came without it; I'm not including most of the numerous non-A/C pickup trucks I've seen up there for 25+ years) were:

1984-1986 Plymouth Voyager (May have been a Dodge Caravan; Passenger, NOT cargo) not just with no A/C but a manual transmission!
    1986-1988 Ford Bronco II
    1983-1988 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme T-top

Non-A/C vehicles I've seen in Maine from 2003-onward:

1995-1999 Pontiac Sunfire 4-door at a Buy Here Pay Here lot
    1999-2004 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 2WD
    1998-2001 Dodge Ram 1500 2WD (my grandma's cousin's boyfriend's)

One thing I also noticed when I was up in Maine during the summer of 1999 was the number of fairly late model vehicles that were rusted. I was born in California in 1989 and lived there until 1990, then we lived in Pennsylvania from 1990 to 1996, moved back to California and lived there from 1996 to 1998, and then we moved to Virginia Beach in 1998 (we were still living there in 1999, obviously). I'd spent almost half my life in warm climates and was not used to seeing newer vehicles with rust. One such example was a green 1995 Mercury Sable I saw at a gas station in Milton Mills, New Hampshire. My grandma's friend owned the gas station, and my grandpa and I brought the '87 Mercedes there to get the A/C fixed. I saw this green '95 Mercury pull up and a young woman get out. I was only 10 years old so I could get away with barraging people with questions, and still be considered "cute". I immediately looked at the rust on the front fender and asked the woman what year the car was. She told me 1995, and I was shocked. The typical car loan is five or six years, right? If she bought that car new and financed it, it more than likely was not paid off yet. If she bought it used and financed it, it definitely was not paid off yet! This particular area was far from wealthy, so I guarantee you the car was financed; If that were my car I would have brought it to the nearest Lincoln-Mercury dealership and tried to make a warranty claim on the rust. The car was in great condition except for the rust spots around the wheel wells. That car was considered "late model" in 1999, but it would now be almost a quarter of a century old. The woman had kids if I remember correctly, so another few years of kids trashing the interior and another decade (or less) of New England winters means that Sable probably went to the junkyard 5-10 years ago at the latest!
