Installed the front rail that Toyota decided to omit. I doubt if it was a cost savings measure. More likely they put every area of product development on a diet to save weight.

Not certain I will use it much, but after unbolting the header I was amazed how light it was and how flimsy the front of the bed is. The rail actually weighs more than the header and seems like it will add a lot of strength.

As mentioned you do not need screws, You re-use the 5 that are already there. You unbolt the header then place the rail on top of the strip that bolts the header to the bed. Then re-install the screws, effectively sandwiching the header between the rail and bed.

Make sure to orient the two asymmetrical drain holes facing down.

    You'll need a T-30 Torx

    Perhaps 10 minutes.

This year's winter mode. I also added sway bar relocates and fixed my brake line mounts since I don't run my OL on my AAL.

Built a super cheap, bed height rack for the tent just in time for an overnighter on the San Juans.

Last minute change? Might be a nice contrast from all the exterior black trim? Truck is looking :headbang:

That is comical. I was thinking the same thing about the DU.... I mean, since I went there and all. ha. But, the duck makes more sense.

Figured it will be nice to have options. Who knows, I might do black on drivers, blue on passenger side:bananadead:
