Haven't done anything except drive it to look at the Supra.
I got the Supra running a lot better. The ECU was using the AFM but it no longer has one. I told the computer to use the MAP and IAT sensors.
Now it doesn't stay running. The fuel pump relay turns on and then right back off. It said something about messing with some other settings after changing to MAP, I'll have to look into that.

Hope to have the dent in my R/F fender removed tomorrow.

Just do one side at a time! That way, you have the other side for reference when you get stuck!

Update from my retrofit issue. Called the retrofit source, found the issue. Went to "destroy it" (it was the relay, got flooded with water from some puddle fun) and sliced my finger open. 5 stitches in my middle finger! Hurray..... at least I get a new part.... in 5 days...... so no driving my Tacoma to work. I guess it's nice I live 5 minutes away. Ordered some new headlight housings too so my retros will have a nice new home to live in

Changed my manual transmission fluid, at 84,300 miles, and greased my u-joints. I used Royal Purple last time and used Lucas this time. It's noticeably smoother again. I think the Lucas is just about as good as the Royal Purple, but after 30,000 miles, the fluid breaks down a little so the refresh is noticeable. I also drained my power steering reservoir and refilled with some ATF (don't remember the specific flavor but I did when I bought it), and used a can of cheap lubricant on my frame, rear diff and leaf springs. I fluid filmed this Summer and just thought I'd get it to creep a little more before it got too cold. I would have used Fluid Film but it was kind of cool today. Since FF is kind of thick, I like to spray it on in the Summer when it is nice and hot out. I think it creeps and wicks into the sandwiched areas of the frame better.
With the new tranny fluid and greased u-joints, she's rolling down the road nice and smooth.

And as an edit to this, I don't have a pump, but have one of those tubes that screws onto the top of a quart jug. There's not much room to use this and the hose has gotten pretty stiff over the years. I found a clean piece of 1/2" polyethylene tubing and ran it in from the driver's side fender well, over the frame and into the fill hole. It made filling of the transmission SO much easier. I could also fully empty the squeeze bottles.

    Too many to list.
It allows you to add accessories that require power without having a mess of wires running out of the battery.

Cleaned the throttle body and the MAF, replaced the spark plugs and the PCV, installed a catch can, calibrated the TPMS for the maestro, washed the windshield -it took all day but no check engine lights.

20191028_180544.jpg 20191028_180503.jpg Just got home Betsy back. Had the notorious paint issue on the hood and really bad oxidation in the roof. So decided to just do the whole truck instead. Tried to copy the 2018 trd pro color for fun. Original color was the magnetic grey.

Now I need the roof molding since those cracked and fizzled away during removal.

2009 TRD sport DCSB, just broke 209k, getting the interior detailed this weekend.

Just hoping I can find that molding for cheaper than $80 a side... ugh! 20191028_180544.jpg 20191028_180544.jpg

Haha aw man, IL is pretty far... it’s a white truck, silver shell.
Thanks! 265’s - got the black out kit on Etsy, there’s a thread on them somewhere around here....

EDIT: Here’s the thread (I got the glossy version) https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...cap-inlays-and-tacoma-decals-for-sale.537257/

Forgot to post a little update on what I did to it on Saturday.
I had it on the lift at work to change the oil and decided to lube my drive shaft splines.
I have a regular cab so I have a one piece driveshaft.

    I used Motorcraft XG-8: https://www.amazon.com/Genuine-Ford-Fluid-XG-8-Lubricant/dp/B000NU77DA
Reused the clamps for the boot, would've liked to install new ones but didn't know what diameter they were.

No more thump when coming to a stop
I still have the 20 MPH vibration
