    I found a vid on e-trailer. I sent them an email asking. I'm not sure how the u-bolt flip mounts, but the sumosprings are held on by the factory u-bolts.

    You probably won't need such tall bumpstops if you're going with the HD Dobinson's packs. Mike was telling me that they will net a little under 3" with nothing in the bed, so your 600 extra pounds may ride just perfectly.

    compression will be darn close to the same regardless of lift from leaf springs. Sumo springs might change that a bit though.

    Bump stop length is determined by your shocks, not leaf springs.

    Yeah, I just assumed that if he was getting HD leaf packs for the rear, he'd already have the appropriate length shocks for them.

    It wouldn’t be possible to bolt those on a u bolt flip without modification. They could be welded right to the flip plate though.

    I'd personally just drill and tap 4 mounting bolts in to the flip plate. 3/8 Grade 8 bolts would work just fine and if you have any length of bolt protruding from the underside of the flip plate, just trim it flush. Easy peasy, no welding required plus its easily serviceable.

    As an example. The appropriate shocks For the OME Lift kits (I know we are talking about Dobinsons here) are a slightly extended version of stock and do not require extended bump stops. Dobinsons shocks that come with their kits must be pretty close, because I have more down travel than Matt does with my b110s.

    many people do not like that the shocks limit down travel and opt for longer shocks that have a longer stroke. You gain down travel doing this, but have to limit up travel (with bump stops) so the shocks don’t bottom out at full compression.

    Bump stops from 99-06 GM 1500s. $40 and readily available at auto parts stores. Went this route so I could get one on demand if I ever had an issue.

    I use the Dewalt impact drill/tap combination bit. I can drill and tap a 3/8 hole in about 20 seconds.

    Understood. I'll jack my rear wheel all the way up to full stuff and then let that same wheel drop to full droop and make a measurement. Technically, I don't want a shock any longer compressed, than the full stuffed measurement am I right? Not without longer bumpstops at least.

    That is correct, you would measure full compression of the shock on your truck against the stated compressed length for the shock. You want about a 1/4” cushion minimum at full compression.

    That being said, it’s pretty easy to add a small spacer to limit up travel Slightly and gain 2+ inches of down travel.

    Pretty sure you'd snap it in half. Lol. After a while, they do get brittle. I snapped my first one a couple weeks ago. It goes through enough heat cycles and it deteriorates. They're the ultimate time saver though if you need to tap a lot of holes though. Well worth the 9 bucks for a single bit.
