Pretty informational thread about similar topic.

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/efi-3-vs-inj-fuses.602078/

I too had my grille lights wired the INJ fuse prior to installing the morimoto headlights. But since I had to install the add a fuse to the fuse directly next to it (EFI no.3) I had to relocate my add a fuse for the grille lights to another EFI, which worked fine as I want my grille lights to run as DRLs

The odd thing is some work and others don’t. Same fuse tap location.

I mean mine work fine, the only thing is that the lights come on randomly. I didn't know it did, or know how often they come on because I dont monitor it. Only reason i know is because my neighbor called me really early in the morning last friday thinking I had left hem on.

I ordered June 11th and haven't received a shipping notice either. I'm sure @eledobleu is working diligently to make this happen. I could only imagine many dozens of less-than-happy people venting frustration at me. I'd be working as hard as I could to mitigate that too. I'm sure once we all have them, most of us will forget all about this, with the exception of the OP possibly needing therapy.

Chances are everyone who uses the fuse tap will have this problem. Issue seems to be coming from the relay that it's tapped into as it draws power randomly even when truck is off. You might have battery issues or difficulties starting because of this depending on how long your truck sits. Could be an issue for alot so solution is to find a better location for the fuse tap.

Then I'm sure you agree, someone at TRS/Morimoto needs to update the installation instructions (asap) with the proper fuse tap location.

Yes I definitely agree! Some people said they don't mind but when they try to start their truck one day and it won't start there will be a bunch of people complaining. I think someone at TRS needs to find a better fuse that completely cuts power when off and only allows Power when on

If you have factory drl's, you don't have to tap into a fuse location correct?

Correct. SR and SR5 models do not have a dedicated DRL wire. Thus, you have to power the DRL of the new headlights another way(this case a fuse tap).
the problem is, there are not many IGNITION powered circuits to tap off in the engine bay.
I never tap off any fuses that have to do with airbag, ECU, BCM, fuel(this case), etc. I only tap dedicated power sources like CIG, IGN, etc.

This! When I did retrofits I made sure that if they had drls power source with Ign or cig. Not sure why trs chose current fuse location for the DRLS

@eledobleu I know this GB was/is a huge pain in the ass but I do want to thank you. My lights showed up early this month and I installed them a few weeks ago. The lights look great, the install was easy. I was able to get them both installed in a little over an hour without any instruction. Thanks again.
