Guess we will see if I got enough stuff to get the entire garage floor. It's pretty big. I'm going to do the main area first and keep all the stuff out of it in the 3rd bay while I do it. I do not want any vehicles in the driveway any longer than needed.

I did this to my garage a few years ago and it was definitely worth it, the work isn't tough at all and it makes a HUGE difference. You might want to consider painting the walls while you're at it too. It'll be about a week-long project considering paint/curing time, but you'll be happy you did every single time you pull up to your garage.

back when I did it I used the Rust-Oleum 'one box' kit and it still looks good (budget constraints). The stuff you have there looks to be much nicer. Next time around I'll definitely do the nicer stuff just because of how big of an impact it makes.

It was actually cheaper after it was all said and done than the rustoleum box

Honestly one of the big things for me would be the value added to the home. If I put $500 plus some good effort in to the project, I think I could make more than that when it's time to sell the house (about 3-5 years). Personally, if I'm looking at a house and I see that the garage is nicely sealed, clean, well-lit, etc...that can easily make me fall in love and want to buy it. We have a handful of other projects that we've done, and even more planned, that should make it easier to sell, even if we don't get a profit out of them.

yeah I could definitely see that, the RustOleum box just make it 'less hassle' because it is literally all in one box, but you can get everything separate in whatever color you want (and likely better quality) if you piece it together which is not hard at all.

what can I say, I was a new-ish homeowner, but i'm still happy with the results. :D

side note: I've since done more research and the stuff from https://www.epoxy-coat.com/catalog/garage-floor-epoxy/ is some of the highest-rated and very reasonably priced as well. They have some really cool finishes too. My next house will definitely have this stuff.

Yeah that's what I am sort of justifying such a spend on my garage. I mean, I'm out there so damn much it's mostly for me to be comfortable, have things well lit, etc. but a dope garage is going to make the value of the home all that much better.

The place I am looking at contracting out does the full monty, diamond grind the floor, seal the cracks, and put down a really nice coating. 15 year warranty and everything. Probably going to cringe when I get the estimate though, I can't imagine it being any less than $2k...

Hey @Man of Steel TRD if you do two bays with your epoxy coat you could also consider doing the 3rd with the race deck/whatever click together flooring brand tickles your fancy. For 95% of garage stuff it is AWESOME, easy to clean, comfortable, and cool looking. It's just when it comes to car ramps & potential watery/oily spills where its anti-slip capability falls down. Jack stands and all that will not budge and I trusted my life to that for hours at a time.

So yeah, after one month of ownership my neighbor backed into the front of my truck. :boink: I parked it in the street while rearranging some items in the garage. Doesn't appear to have any body damage but definitely scratched up. He was super honest and upfront about it and agreed to take care of it. I'm going to get an estimate tomorrow after work.

I realize it's a truck and it will eventually take some knocks over the years. If I was responsible for the damage I would still be pissed but the fact that someone else did it and this early into ownership just pets my fur the wrong way!! Have any of you new truck owners had something similar happen early on and how many beers did it take to get over it?

You're lucky, that grille surround section takes all of 30 seconds to remove so a paint shop should have no problem with it. Should be a cheap and easy fix.

I can't stress this enough, be happy that there are still people out there who own their mistakes and work to make good on them.

I had some jackass hit&run on my dream car with 56 miles on the clock, I would still beat that dickhead to within an inch of his life with a tire iron if I had the chance. Scummy fucker waited for a moment when people weren't looking and bolted.

$543 to fix damage from a rock on the 101 it was the size of my thumbnail but took the paint down to sheetmetal. Barely hit 7k on the odo at the time.

Hell I'd be happy someone else has to pay for it.

@Nitori bummer about your dream car, that blows. Scummy fuckers will always be scum. I was heated about a little cosmetic blemish so I couldn't even imagine how to handle serious damage this early on.

@OnePuttBlunder damn, that's definitely a chunk of change for that thumbnail size of damage. Not sure if touch up paint will work on mine because the scratches are really deep. It's more annoying that I have to invest my time into this but you're right he is willingly paying for it.

Subaru WRX... I had wanted one since I was 16 and I finally managed to make it happen, then this dingus throws his car in reverse at a stop sign because he pulled too far through. I was like 3 car lengths back completely stationary. :fenforcer:

Welp we fucked up by me coming off my wife's health insurance when I started the new job. We were under the impression the deductible would be reduced with her going back to the only insured. They did drop it back down but the entire thing reset. I should have just waited and done the normal open enrollment for the new year when her deductible reset anyway. I would have been able to continue my PT at $20 a session vs $75 and she wouldn't be saddled with big bills again. Good reminder the to always confirm the source info. Her HR fucked up that advice. Should have called the insurance co to confirm.

The positive is the new gig is awesome only regret not making the jump sooner. My last corporate gig left such a bad taste in my mouth I was super hesitant to go back to corporate work.
