Tire Factory locations are running a buy 4 get 1 Toyo deal through Thurs this week. They told me Toyo wants to branch away from Les Schwab on the West Coast. 5, 255 85 16 Toyo MTs at Les Schwab are almost $2,100. Same tires are $1,800 at Discount Tire. With the promotion at Tire Factory 5 tires are $1,370 out the door. I’ll be in the tall and skinny club this week. Anyone on the fence on this size in the Toyo MT might want to check out Tire Factory this week.

    Joining the 255 club today.

2014 Regular cab 5MT 4WD. Not much info for RC guys so I'm going to post all the specs I was looking for before I started my lift.

255/85r16 Cooper ST Maxx's on SCS F5 16x8 et0 wheels. Bilstein 6112 ( 3rd setting ) and 5160's on Headstrong 3 leaf AAL (retaining helper spring). 2.75" lift all around (with a factory 1.5" rake). Used OEM UCA's and was able to max out at 1.5* caster. No rubbing after I removed the fore and aft flaps.

I also purchased a taco lean spacer and forgot to install it. Was too lazy to tear it apart again but it leveled out perfectly, even with me in the cab.

I was also afraid that the AAL + helper spring would stiffen up the rear considerably but the Bilsteins made quick work of it. The ride is AS smooth, if not smoother, than factory. Definitely easier on my back driving through pot-holey streets.

Will see how she does on the trail this weekend.

If all goes well, I'm going to start building my front and rear bumpers next week. Weeeeeeeeee

Sweet truck. I wanted the regular cab but they are as rare as hen’s teeth.

pro tip, cut the exhaust pipe off after the last hanger. I watched my buddy crush his up into the bodywork last weekend.

    Thanks!

Yeah when I started looking for one a few years back, all my buddies told me I'd never find a regular cab in 4WD AND 5MT. Found one one day and jumped on it. Haven't looked back since.

I will take your advice about the exhaust pipe and chop it. I can see it getting hung up on something too. Thanks!

Can't remember if I posted this here or not. I have two 255/85/16 km2s that would make great spares. $20 each. Located in Middle TN. Really don't want to throw them away.

Does anyone have a good online snow chain recommendation for 255/85/R16? It’s kind of a tricky size and my local place doesn’t have it in stock.

Took her out for the first day since I got the new ST Maxx's. Gotta say, they feel really good! Aired down to 15 psi with no issues. Road noise is very very minimal. The new size did lower my fuel mileage. Was getting 19-20mpg before, now I'm at a solid 17mpg.

You have to bend over two tabs before it fits. It’s snug, though, for sure.
