    The bolts (Grade 10.9) which are shipped with the my spacers provide the strength (safety) to hold the seat down to the truck body. And judging by this use of HDPE (yellow HPDE construction mat in photo below), I would think it just might be OK for a seat spacer too. But it's really up to the customer to decide to purchase either the HDPE or the Aluminum spacers.

    Easy to 'try at home' if you have anything of substantial hardness that you can temporarily place under the mounting bracket (i.e. block of wood).
