Incase anyone hasn’t seen silverhammers post in the 3rd gen H/U he states this

The very first boot-up took a moment. However, all start-ups since have beenfast (use auto sleep).
Settings --> Car --> Extra Settings-->Shutdown display = Auto Sleep

this makes thing that’s much better! Especially for my Apple car play.

Hey Travis, did you have an issue with playing music through Android auto/headunit reloaded at first? I noticed if I hit the Google assistant button, while it listens for me to speak, the music plays. But then when the assistant stops the music stops lol. Weird... I haven't had time to update the unit yet. Maybe that's the issue? I also uninstalled easy connect. It plays through Bluetooth just fine. I was curious what you thought.

    Hey guys,

I got the unit put in, love the way it looks, and wow, makes a big difference on the sound with the factory speakers.. Have run into a fitment issue though, with the radio head snapped in place did anyone have a problem snapping the climate control back in? The bottom lip of the panel seems to come unsnapped when you put the climate control back in...

Hmm I haven't had that issue. Try emailing the headunit reloaded developer. He has been quick to respond to me and very helpful on the few issues I've dealt with. All issues I had he was able to fix via settings.

No issue with my '09, did you remember to transfer over the yellow clips from the old unit?

Yep, the head panel snaps in and tight with the clips, but when I place the climate control in there it pushes up on the HU panel lower lip and upclips the bottom right side if it..

How do I make the unit homescreen look like this? I ordered the Seicane unit and I like this a lot more than the default home screen.

Weird. Just a thought, is the head unit pushed up as far as it can go? I had a lot of wiggle room

That extender should plug into the factory harness coming from the USB AUX and the other end into one of the USB ports from the radio.. Is yous a 2012?

Yea Theo, like I said its all fine with just the HU panel plugged in, good tight fit top and bottom.. No real wiggle that I see.... Problem occurs when I click the AC control in..

Correct! It should but I took the dashboard apart, traced the wire back to the radio harness and no plug looks like it can connect to it! I do have a 2012 with the base radio

Update!! I cut about 1/5 of an inch at the bottom lip of the unit to allow for the hazard/clock to click in. It fit snug and the gap actually looks better
First pic is from before mod.

Did you ever get them? Do they fit down by the cigarette lighter or are they only made for the slots on the left?

Crap... I didn’t realize that was your own review. I don’t want to put them both on the left of my steering wheel (one might be ok). So I doubt I’ll end up using both of the ones I bought unless I can disassemble one of them and modify an existing blank from under the climate control to handle the little inner cable connector and trim piece. Is the female USB connector able to be removed from the switch blank without destroying it or the trim piece?

Ya I wish they would have been more descriptive on which solt they fit it in. Even the review made it seem very promising. I have free extras coming because it took for ever to arrive so I'll take a crack at cutting one down. To be honest, it's not off by much. A simple modification might do the trick. Just don't try and jam it in there like i did lol. Another thing to note is that wiring it to the left side was a freaking breeze. I hear the slots next to the 12volts are a bit out a headache to replace.

Edit: yes the entire piece can be disassembled. I'll post some pictures

Sorry about the stains and spiders

Perfect! Thanks for posting that. If the unit can be disassembled like that then I should be able to modify one of the blanks under the climate control to fit the cable and adapter trim. It’ll just take some patience and finesse. And haha, no hate for the spiders.

I ordered two of them yesterday and eBay quoted me a delivery date of January 1st! So god knows when they’ll actually arrive but I’m not in a huge hurry considering my headunit just shipped yesterday.
