I just purchased a Aries Bull Bar and it is junk. I could dent the 3 inch tubing with a rubber mallet. I want real protection for my front end, are there any suggestions. I have a 2017 Tacoma.

yeah get a god damn proper steel front bumper. Your only options are from: C4, CBI or camburg. Don't put anything else on your truck. People will laugh at how retarded it looks.

Welcome! If you want real protection, skip the bull bar and get a full steel bumper with hoops. Theres a bunch of great brands and styles you can get without getting heckled. Just avoid big box brands you'd find at 4 wheel parts or on car ID. A good place to start is the vendors list on the left side of the home page. You can get all kinds of styles too, from baja to hybrid, to full plate. Have fun searching for what you like. Personally I went with a victory 4x4 bumper, but I had to modify it to get it to fit without rubbing. I know mines a 2nd gen, but the bumper style is identical to their 3rd gen.

Is it possible to find a low pro bull bar without the winch mount? I really like the look of them, but I won’t be buying a winch, and I feel like it would be a little lighter without that?

I think there is one out there but this not that heavy. 80-90 lbs at the most, I don’t have my winch hooked up yet but. I don’t see the a ton of weight savings with out the winch Mount. All it is, is a welded plate shelf the winch can mount too. Maybe 10 lbs if that I think have the ability to add one if you want is great

Actually no, your only option at this point is the CBI aluminum bumper. Best looks (not even up for debate), and it is lighter like you are fussing over.

Don't be a coward. Order it today, wait an eternity for them to ship it, install, and watch ever loser with a god awful honey badger bumper (or comparably horrendous bumper) get mad.

Southern Style Offroad (SSO) sells a low-pro slimline (best looking version) and you can get a blocker plate for the winch hole.

    Why block it off?

Because the person I was responding to, asked if there were a slimline option without a winch mounting plate.

Edit: Also, people often build in phases to distribute the cost over time. If you buy the bumper now, but plan on a winch later, the plate allows you to not have a gaping hole in your bumper.

    1. Thought it would be obvious that it was a joke.
    2. The person you were responding to said she liked the look of a winch but wasn't planning to get a winch, so it actually could be a solution.

I think the poll results speak for themselves on this one.

Cool idea, but I like the bumper just not the winch. I just want a bull bar, but not one of the tacky aftermarket ones.

I seem to be the only one with this set up. but I don't know if it will work with safety sense

Order in the next thirty minutes and we will include a sample of our world famous deer jerky. Just pay separate processing and handling...
