    Either tomorrow or Friday.

what do you think? Might be better to get it in Tomorrow so I’ll have an extra day to rest. Tomorrow will be 9 days out.

Very nice man. I'm consistently impressed with your ability and determination to maintain form even when it gets heavy. It will serve you well to helping avoid further injuries going forward. Awesome job.

I think the sooner the better. Yes more rest, but also so you can get in a test day. Was that part of the program I sent you? If the meet is the 9th you should be good to go if you rest from like the 5th on. For test day, treat it like a meet. Wear your full get up, singlet and all. Plan on hitting all 3 lifts but not to a true 1RM. Save that for meet day. Work up to your planned opener. Doing this will give you the confidence come meet day to get up on the platform and nail your opener because you know you just did it but also will be a good test so you know if your opener is too heavy or too light. Probably good to do test day on Saturday or Sunday and then have like 1-2 days of light work and lots of stretching, rolling. Then stay out of the gym until meet day

Well, thank you. That’s the goal. Had a disc herniation and a pec tendon rupture in two consecutive years. Made me very conscious of what I’m doing now. Haha.

Yes, that was in there. I was planning to do it on Tuesday Nov 5th. I don’t think I’ll be fatigued from working to to those numbers.

***but*** I have no idea what I’m doing here, so if you think I should back that up a day or two I can.

I knew about the pec thing, missed the part about the disc! The smart man learns from his mistakes and injuries and takes prudent steps to minimize that trouble in the future! I never go to the doctor so I honestly can't say what if any injuries I've come up with over the years but I've had back issues since high school that definitely forced me to be very strict with squats and deads, and had some on/off shoulder issues years back that reinforced to me that I was getting sloppy with some upper body stuff and needed to tighten it up! I don't subscribe to the idea of give it all you got, injuries be damned and do whatever it takes to win. I'm more the "I still want to be kickin' ass when I'm 60+ and not broke, bent and trying to remember the good ole days". At 50 though, I may have to extend that to 70+! LOL

The disc thing suuuuucked. 4moths of PT to get the constant pain to subside. 6months until I touched an empty barbell. Still have some sciatica that flares up from it. I mitigate that with lots of reverse hypers and decompression table sessions.

I hear you on the longevity thing. Look at the man spotting me. He’s 58 and jacked. He trains very conservatively always.
