Beg to differ, although I’m not sure why. OEM soft tri fold from dealer on purchase. (Check logo near tailgate)

    Maybe only in Canada :rasta:

Wow. Not available in US. Is that listed on Toyota’s Canada website? Also do you have pics of how it mounts?

No pics of install. I’ll take a couple and post tomorrow.

I know, it was a bit pricey but I like. So far, so good after 1 year.

I had that happen in an old Volvo 240 that I owned years ago. The hood and hinges were fried, but the roof and windshield were all good.
The OEM tonneau cover is made of some weird plasticized green-blue fiberboard. The crossbeams are made of the same. It’s sturdy enough that I actually had to break another small chunk of it away with pliers to get my bike out. I just patched the 1”x2” hole with some black gorilla tape for now

I feel so much better about myself now. My wife looked at me and said "I knew that was gonna happen." when I did it.

This is what it looks like folded up. There is an anchor bolt on the last section on the passenger side that you need to remove if you want to take the cover off. It's kind of heavy but more awkward if you remove it by yourself. With two people it would be a breeze. One thing to check is when you close it to push on each section above the clamps so they audibly snap unless that happened when you lowered them. It's not completely water tight but when closed correctly it keeps out most of the rain. I've been in some heavy rain storms and only noticed a little water towards the tailgate.

Yeah that was installation day, only thing I had to do was trim the bolts and cover the sharp edges on those forward plates. They've turned out to be very useful and I use them more than I thought I would.

I'm not sure how to post images to this site. I tried using the insert images, but incase it doesn't work, https://imgur.com/a/Lg2PTgZ are pics of my OEM cover with some bikes in the back. I have a 170/160 Transistion partrol full suspension bike, its about 5 feet from the back of the rear tire to the head tube/down tube area where it sits over the tailgate. I have to have it in there at an angle to fit, can definitely fit another in there, similar size, 3 full suspension bikes would be pushing it. The cover closes with the tailgate pad on still. I can fit a bike in the bed with the cover open too, but the handle bar pokes out so I can't close it without either taking a wheel off or rotating the handle bars. Still looking for a good way to leave it in the bed while going in the store without someone stealing my bike though, but that's probably for another thread.

Rests atop the bed sides and tailgate. Front panel is secured to the bed rails. Spring loaded latch handles at tailgate. Folds back 2 panels from the tailgate.

In a way you are lucky . Some have posted on here where they had the back panel flipped up on the second panel while driving and the wind lifted the back panel and ripped the back 2 panels off destroying everything .

Probably why there’s a warning printed around the fixing bolt that says “don’t drive without this bolt!”
    But yeah that seriously sucks
