yes, they'll be a rare collector's item. I got mine ceramic coated, not sure if that'll make them higher or lower since they're not "original"

    ??? OP or @OVTune

Could we add to this thread a link or post the performance specs / benefits for adding the Catted Dump Tubes ? I know Mat posted this somewhere but this thread would be a good central location for all of us to find them and share information/ask questions. I intentionally left off the no-cat dump tubes as Mat has stated they will not be manufactured or offered for sale by OVTUNE any longer.

I would love to add the Dyno graph that was published a long time ago, but I haven't been able to find it. It's somewhere 100pages back in the ovtune auto trans thread. If anyone can find it please post it up.

Here is the only graph that was posted, it was the initial non-catted tube dyno, there was never a catted tube dyno posted.

    91 vs 91.jpg

Stock exhaust + 1.05 around 15-17 hp gain

Dump tube + dump tube tuning - 24-27 hp gain

final 2.0 tuning may change these numbers

It would be more useful comparing a tune w/ stock tubes vs same tune with dump tubes.... Anyone have photoshop skills and can overlay that dyno onto the one above?

Damn I'm hesitant on ordering the catless dump tubes now that there have been multiple reports of leaks and CELs with the URD MKII Y-Pipe combination which is exactly what I'm running along with a Borla S-Type catback exhaust. Not sure what to do now, either wait for OVT to release their version of the Y-Pipe or just wing it and order the catless and hope for the best? I'm not too concerned about the CEL since the updated dump tube tunes seems to have fixed that issue but what I am concerned about is the dump tubes amplifying the terrible pingy/raspy/buzzing noise I get under load above 2500-3000 RPM. Guess I'll have to order one of those vibrant ultra quiet resonators and have it welded in, or perhaps 2 would do the trick?

If your exhaust leaks just make some gaskets. Simple and cheap. There's a bunch of videos how to make and trace a gasket online.

I'm pretty sure the catless tubes will not be available again. Matt made 16 sets and said that was all. Only catted in the future.

hope Mat @OVTune will post up new data for the Catted Dump Tubes when he releases final 2.0. 1.05 provided 15-17hp over stock tune and the delta for the tubes is an additional 9-10 hp. As it stands without the requested data it is hard to say if the merit(s) of the tubes justify the expenditure. Wait and see game for me.

I bought mine based off the low rpm torque curve not the HP numbers and they were/are/maybe/maybe not gonna be part of the TT kit. I'm still only a tank of gas into them and not ready to make a decision if they are worth the cost yet. Looking forward to the final 2.0 tune for these.

I don't think the tune you're wanting to see (stock exhaust w/ 2.0) or at least hasn't been posted here or on the orange virus site.

I was thinking of comparing 1.05 tune w/ & w/ out tubes. I don’t think any dynos have been posted for 2.0

1.05 and 1.05.1 are not optimized for the dump tubes.
As we mentioned before, on 1.05 or stock, there is a power reducing above 6000 RPM with the dump tubes because VVT needs to be retuned.
So using the dump tubes without the dump tube tunes is doing it the wrong way.

The torque curve is significantly better. So can you really tell the difference in TQ in the low rpm? Might be able to justify them if that is really the case - for towing purposes.

Are any members here doing anything for heat shielding with the dump tubes, or just leaving them be? I don't recall Matt posting anything stating the need to do so or not do so. I was just curious, thank you.

I’m in the market for a good product regarding heat shielding for the new dump tubes and the spec-U system for better ground clearance. Any suggestions?

Highly recommend ceramic coating, not tape. Tape isn't that bad but can cause issues. Look it up. There are DIY options or look for a local shop that does ceramic coating.
