The smartphone app works well. You can remote start, set valet info, odometer, etc.

 

Still waiting for delivery- with factory nav, can you send a location to the head unit from the phone? Believe it or not, I find this to be the most useful feature when I'm waiting....and waiting...and waiting for everyone else to be ready but I'm not going to sit in the driveway with the truck running.

 

Never tried it but why wouldn't you just be able to just run the accessories without the truck running and input the destination in the Nav?

 

Haha. I just did the same,,,cool it works,,, but the auto tailgate lock going CLUNK CLUNK CLUNK HURTS A BIT. Hopefully the app becomes less glitchy over time.

 

It doesn’t really make sense. My Jeep GC had remote start that kept running even after entering the vehicle. You had to press the start button after entering the vehicle before you could put the vehicle into drive and obviously that required the fob to be in the vehicle as well. I’m guessing Toyota doesn’t have a way to prevent shifting into DRIVE, thus the door shut off. On the Jeep it had an electronic lock of some sort that prevented taking it out of park. Still happy to have remote start in my 2020 TRD Sport, but the door shut off is slightly inconvenient.

 

So the add-on is loud when it locks and unlocks? If that is the case are some of the DIY ones maybe a better quieter option?

 

My dealer was telling me the power tailgate lock is standard (or at least for the off road). We no longer need the aftermarket kit? I’m sure it’s in these 260 something pages but missed it...

 

Not a standard factory option, but might be a standard port or dealer option for your area.

 

Nope, all manual. The app doesn't even recognize the tailgate.

 

Not sure if new on the 2020. I have a limited so not sure what models it comes w - but was pleasantly surprised by finding a sub box behind the passenger rear seat. I upgraded from a ‘12 - so maybe I just never read about it on the earlier models... now it needs an upgrade.

 

That's part of the JBL audio system that the Premium Package includes (except on MT for some reason). Since the Limited includes all that as well, you get it too!

 

I don't see an option on the app to send destination to nav. However, if you're using CarPlay, you can easily put the destination into either Google maps, maps or Waze beforehand.

 

I couldnt find this screen on my app. Where is it. Are you android?, i'm apple.

 

The power tailgate I added, its aftermarket. I read somewhere around here there is a mod of how to make it less CLUNK CLUNK. But gotta go to work. So cant look now.

 

Android. For me this Vehicle Status screen pops up when I touch the truck photo.

 

Just got my build date for 11/27 and no arrival date. It is just making me even more anxious without any arrival date. Any guesses when it should come in?

 

Where are you taking delivery of the truck? What state?

I would say about 30 days after build date you should have it on the lot ready for you to roll on home with it.

 

My dealer just ordered mine today so waiting on getting the build date from them after they get it from Toyota.

 

It will be delivered in Richmond, Virginia.

 

Maybe it will be built on the same day as mine and we'll have our tacos home at the same time.
