Apparently there's a badge engineered euro-spec version called the Renault Alaskan.

Will it have the depreciation of a Benz or an American-spec truck though?

Just over do it years since this happened...

I still haven’t fully gotten over it and probably never will! Why I’m pissed off...

    • The old fart who hit my truck got a goddamn DUI as a result of the accident that damaged my truck and he got off with a slap on the wrist.
    • Not only did that pantload have a previous drunk driving conviction, but he killed someone while driving drunk that time! Like I said, he got away with a slap on the wrist!
    • Despite all of the above, the asshole lied to his insurance company and said I ran a stop sign; His insurance company refused to pay for damages to my truck.
    • My insurance company ate the cost of fixing my truck, waived the deductible, and didn’t raise my rates, but used a non-OEM rear bumper as cost cutting measure because my truck was more than two years old. My back bumper has never been quite right since then.
    • My insurance company could have done a better job when taking the drunk’s insurance company to court, and not just reached a “draw”.

Honestly, addiction has never made sense to me. Food, activities, medications. Nope.

Not saying it isn't real, but it doesn't effect me. As in, if I can't see the color green...you cannot explain it to me.. if that makes sense? So addiction makes no sense to me.

Mainly I think because my memory is so poor, I practically instantly forget what it feels like and just shrug and move on. Gave up soda almost 4 years ago, instant cut off and I never once craved it. Just done. Was on a strong anti anxiety/mood meds for a year (a crutch until we found the real problem) , they told me I'd most likely become addicted and need to ween for months after being on it for a year... Nope, once I read up how shitty it was and also how my doctor didn't know to properly inform me of the dangers, I flushed it all and never looked back. (Can't remember the name, but it had a lot of lawsuits and stuff due to no one properly warning people.)

Had some "brain zaps" but, again, I just shrugged and moved on.

Honestly, I think some people have a weak or strong mind when it comes to things. Willpower I guess? No idea.

I would have sued the guy, honestly the city as well for letting a dangerous criminal get off lightly.

    1. Dash cams are cheap and a great way to trap people in their BS. Hard to argue with a digital witness. Anker Roav C1 has really been a great buy for me

    2. Even on a full rebuild, they never ever are "full" again. Front of my truck is still slightly crooked to the left

    3. Law of diminishing returns. Insurance is in the money making business, not the blood letting business. They could have fought it rightly so, but the lawyer fees, etc mean the amount they would recover drops to where it isn't worth it for them. Fish or cut bait. I personally would love to see repeat DUI offenders marched through thee town square to the gallows, but that's not cost effective for a business.

Your typical drunk. Put the blame on the other driver. And for sure this is not his first driving while intoxicated. what an ASS!!!!!!!

It wasn’t the city (actually it’s a Borough(...

The previous incident (where he killed somebody) occurred almost 30 years prior and presumably in a different state.

Also, the lawyer representing the drunk ended up being the owner of the bar where I worked at the time (none of us knew this until weeks before the case was supposed to go to trial.

The most the prosecutor could do was deny the drunk driver accelerated rehab, which basically means someone convicted of a DUI below a certain BAC with no death or injuries could take alcohol awareness classes, which would reduce the period of time their license was suspended or avoid the suspension altogether.

The prosecutor wasn’t having that and he ended up pleading guilty and losing his license for a year (I think it should have been permanently revoked).

The lawyer who owned the bar where I work got me a decent cash settlement that I spent on dashcams, a double-DIN head unit, and a backup camera.

I used the restitution money to buy dashcams and upgrade my stereo system; Karma is a bitch!
