    Anyone else agree with that?

My wife never seems to want to buy anything "expensive". I know expensive is not always the best, but majority of the time is...
I'd rather get something with more features than I need, than something more "economical" and less features, then later having to need something more capable...

Sorry, just my morning poop thoughts. :)

It’s always cheaper to do something right the first time.

This only applies if actually being honest and practical. It is true, however it’s is also often used as an excuse to waste money and stay in debt and get something you don’t even need at all ha.

    Depends on what it is.

I have no desire to 'over buy' things I don't need. IE I drive a 5 lug. Don't need 4wd, don't need a v6, don't need a lift, entune, etc. Just reliable transport.

OTOH, I'm willing to pay more for quality on things that get heavy use or serve a great function. Hence my Tacoma vs a last gen Ranger or the Sonoma that I sold to get into the Tacoma. Those had same size and features, just not the same quality, and cost a lot less than my bare bones Tacoma.

For one or two use tools for the home projects, HF can suffice. For regular used tools, I try to buy better grade stuff.

On a SCCA prepped street class ride I had, suspension, wheels, tires and driver skill were the tickets to results. I took EVO classes, used light forged wheels, sticky street legal (barely) rubber and suspension bits that were the sports car equivalent of Kings. Worth every dime.

I agree, for me personally depends on the product use and purpose of it. To many variables to list but for example I cheap out on stuff like t-shirts, jeans, but spend money on foot and eyewear.

Expensive equals quality less and less in these days of advertising and consumerism.

Its up to all of us to do our homework to figure out what products are the best bang for the buck.

expensive is not the answer. It’s quality. quality can be expensive, but that’s when it’s worth investing in.

    I’m running :

    NAPA CV axles
    MOOG tie rods
    MOOG LCA
    Bilstein 5100 front shocks
    Bilstein b110 rear shocks

These modifications go against “Buy once - cry once” and yet they have been very durable and have performed well on my daily family duty truck that gets wheeled hard with big tires.

I do like the phrase and I do agree with it, but I have saved a ton of money going less expensive on many items and it hasn’t bitten me in the butt..... yet.

That being said I’m still going to spend more on the truck. :spending:

Right, expensive is not the answer.

Billy’s are quality vs a spaced lift.
For your driving/ wheeling it may be more that enough

I agree but many will say that “Billy’s are garbage shocks” and go straight to fancy high dollar shocks (that are often times shorter than my bilsteins) and then proceed to use those shocks even less than I use my Billy’s!

kanye tshirt.jpg Screenshot_20191031-064305_Chrome.jpg Buy once, Cry once? Research is important in any decision when making a purchase, expensive does not mean quality. Even reviews are tough to gauge with so many idiots and triggered people shit posting everywhere. Being smart and doing research, even just simply comparing items is more important to make a happy purchase.

It heavily depends on what im doing. Obviously if safety, comfort, or well being are involved then yes. Buy a quality item. That doesn't mean buy the most expensive example, but do research and not be afraid to pay more for something more than sufficient. But for example, my lightbar behind my lower grille. I dont depend on that thing for....well.....anything. If it craps out on me im not any worse for the wear. There are much more expensive and much higher quality options, but for my purposes the one I have (I have $45 wrapped up in the entire setup) works just fine. If and when it goes out I'll research an upgrade. To the polar opposite, im building a street/strip race car right now. I could buy a racequip Sa2015 cert'd helmet for about $160. However there has been alot of talk about counterfeit racequip and gforce safety equipment floating around. I can get a Simpson directly from Simpson for $400 and know Im buying a quality item.
