    They look a
Lot better on vehicles with narrower spokes on the wheel. The main thing is making sure you start lacing with the correct holes facing each other. I messed up on the last one I did and after about 3/4 of the way I realized it and had to unlace the whole thing.

    Question #2

Remove the old material or install the Wheel Skins/"Alibaba Special" over the old wheel?

If you have the time, for $20 you can transform your wheel with an Aliexpress cover

It takes a lot of adjusting to get it perfect, I found that it was best to start in the middle and work your way into the corners. You don't want it too tight or else it will crease and you will have ugly gaps. You want to thread everything through then evenly tighten it just so that the leather meets, if you tighten too much the leather will overlap and ruin the adjacent side of the wheel cover

My wife has the slip on steering wheel cover on her car and I remove it before I slide the seat back, that cover she uses sucks and feels unsafe. But me driving her car with the steering wheel cover on like I used to do feels safer than her driving and me in the passenger seat. Lmao

@skiergd011013 I'm in the market for a wheel skins cover. Do you like/recommend the top and sides to be perforated leather? I'm thinking top and bottom leather and sides perforated leather.

It's really just personal taste. Mine is fully perforated and i'm happy with it. It looks oem. Take your time installing it. The directions emphasize to pull the stitches tight, but don't go crazy, just pull them really snug. The thread can snap 1 hour into the install and you'll need to order more and start all over (ask me how I know).

Installed Wheelskins on 11/17/2024, we'll see how long it lasts.

Had to ask for a replacement because of sizing issues, replacement (no vost) was worse so I just decided to insert fillers (in the top portion of the wheel cover) to avoid loose sections after stitching. Turned out okay, I think. I'll leave it until it needs replacing again.

I'd definitely recommend, just be patient with the sizing ('cause it might not be right the first time, or at all in my case) and installation.

I'm sorry but all these Wheelskins covers look like crap. It's not due to the install, it's the design. Why do they not go all the way to the airbag and steering wheel controls. Of the ones posted I'd take the Rakuten and Ali Express ones over it any day.

As a third and fourth option you can always swap to a different wheel, I put a Scion iQ wheel in mine because I wanted a smaller diameter wheel with the flat bottom to clear my legs while driving and turning the wheel. Got tired of smacking my hand into my leg whenever I was turning.

Or alternatively you can just cut a strip of leather to fit and stitch it up nice and tight. I do not recommend doing this unless you have strong sewing skills. I did it in my last vehicle but I had the skills and more importantly didn't want to pay to do a full custom interior. The wrinkles were all worked out later, this shot was taken before I smoothed it all out.
