I’ve done a bunch of searching on here but only came up with like 5 posts and didn’t really cover anything.

what’s the Pros and Cons of doing an EGR delete on a stock 2RZ? I’m trying to clean up the clutter of an engine bay that I have

Pros: Fewer expensive parts to replace
Less clutter in the engine bay
    Less environmental friendly

    Cons: Smog failure (certain states)
    Check Engine light always on
Possible loss of engine life due to higher combustion chamber temps
    More environmental friendly

I'm sure there is more to each but I'd say the pros of an EGR delete are superficial when compared to a functioning EGR system.

I was looking at this kit.

we don’t have emissions tests where I live so I’m good on that. I was thinking the resistors that come with the kit will take care of the CEL but I’m not sure

It's definitely a cheaper option than fixing non functioning parts of the EGR system. That would be the only real benefit I see.

On the other hand, you're not feeding dirty exhaust gasses and carbon back into the cylinders do it could extend the life :notsure:

Resistor may work or may not - my guess it depends on the truck year and ECU sophistication. "Smarter" ECU can't be cheated very easy. By the way never believe what seller of "performance parts" are claiming. At the end it is only your risk, and they always take your money with big "thank you":luvya:.

On the emission stuff delete subject I'd rather want to figure out how to get rid of EVAP - in Europe that thing does not exist. It has zero functionality on the engine performance or durability. I believe this was one of the inventions done by "hungry congressman" who proved to lobbyists his efficiency, that he can push through any stupid proposal to be a law, if he got paid enough.

I wouldn’t mind deleting the evap/ charcoal canister too. Haven’t really seen where anyone has done it successfully tho.

This is deep inside ECU that is collecting data on different driving cycles. There is no "resistor fix" for that. If I only know the logic I'd write a little Arduino code to simulate the EVAP and give all inputs to ECU the way it is expecting from functional EVAP.
