Need some help in Melbourne FL. 32940-7045

I have been looking into joining the Air Force Reserve and an instructor from school has really hooked me up with an extremely solid contact. I want to repay him and what would be better than to hook the guy up with a 12 pack of his favorite beer and a thank you note? The problem is, I live in California and he lives in Florida (off-campus program). What I was hoping was that someone, in the area, pick up a case of beer and deliver it to his place. I will pay for the beer, of course, and your time. Payment can be made via paypal - half as deposit and the rest upon confirmation of delivery.

I have looked into liquor delivery services in the area on-line, but didn't really find anything. My instructor and I are both of legal drinking age so there is no issue there.

This is kind of a feeler so if anyone thinks this is a good/bad idea or would be willing to help, please chime in.

I really can appreciate the nice gesture on your part, but I would be seriously hesitant to buy booze for some total stranger... and then hand deliver it to them.

Here's a possible bad scenario. If... and I say IF a kid gets ahold of the beer, gets drunk and goes out and does something stupid and hurts someone... the person who bought and delivered it would be on the hook.

Put it on your long term "to do" list and if you happen to be in his neck of the woods at some point in the future, stop in and take him to his favorite watering hole for that beer. I'm sure he'd appreciate that even more.

 

Yeah, maybe you're right. That's kind of where I was going with that little disclaimer. I would definitely prefer to kick back some suds with the guy but I don't know when he'll be back my way.
