Pouring rain, high wind forecasts for tonight here in PA. Temp was 73* when I left work. Was going to try and beat the weather system and set up trailcams over @ the cabin but rain decided otherwise. Settling in for the night....

We have a high wind warning here.
    50 to 60 mph.
And the wind is coming from other direction so the trees really don’t like it.

    *belly rubs*

is that a spotter plane trailing him? giving the "go" to drop?
always amazes me how "slow" those big things can go. Saw a C17 doing touch and gos at the airport in Jackson WY with the Tetons only a short 6 miles away, parallel to the runway. I was on the highway to the east but I think if I had been out hiking in the mountains that day I probably would have hit the deck when that big bastard swooped overhead. It was probably empty and as "nimble" as it could be but its still a beast!

also got buzzed by a couple of Canadian Bombardier Super Scoopers one summer when I lived in Alaska. There was a fire not far from where I lived and there was a lake right beside the fire where they were filling up the amphib planes and doing water drops. One day the wind shifted and smoke filled the valley where the lake was so they had to bring the planes over Cook Inlet to fill up, leaving me right in the flight path. I was home one afternoon and all of a sudden heard a REALLY low plane....planes aren't exactly a rare sighting in AK so the fact that this got my attention was a big deal. I went running out of the house, onto the deck, just as one passed over the house - maybe a couple hundred feet up if that, water still dripping from the belly and the floats... I kinda flinched as he went over, waved at the pilot. I'm sure he would have waved back if he wasn't so focused on not hitting any trees or houses. Engines roaring at full throttle... Then right behind him was a second one flying the same path. I didn't see him approach because I was still watching the one leaving, only heard him as he passed even lower than the first guy. I did duck as he flew over. Scared the poop out of me! They continued to make runs back and forth for most of the afternoon. Was pretty cool to see after I got over the initial shock
These guys are similar to what was buzzing me that day
    [IMG]

it that several runs combined and just not showing all of the ground time? Where is the control to open the chutes and let the phoscheck fly?

    cow tipping?

    And things keep on rolling.
    Lightning truck update.
So I put in 4 backup assist sensors and calibrated and it came to life
Installed charcoal canister and pump and it passed the key off and evap test.
    No more check engine light.

    Installed blind spot slave sensor.
Had a hard time calibrating because techs weren’t paying attention and walking in
    The zone.
So no codes ,53 codes gone.
    Road test
Backup to a wall and alarm goes off. Good
No pending codes in other systems good.

Blind spot monitor did not flash alerts.
    WTF..
    so no codes.
Performed some tests and manually drove the ecu .
    Ecu sending signal.
    No reply from lamps.
So now it needs two outside rear view mirrors.
So I figure $9,300 after those put in.
I think this may be the final chapter.

You never know what’s around the next system.

This was like diagnosis of 10 different vehicles.

I am kinda patting myself on the back as every part I put in was diag correctly
And woke up a dead system with no communication.
Then had to repair sub systems.
I ordered another $1,300 in parts.

Of this had been a base Taco it would have been done a long time ago.
    So remember people.
you want all the fancy shit and bells and whistles. They will come back to haunt you..
