    I believe I asked this question when I had mine built, was wondering the same. I think what he said was he likes to keep the weight of the tire as close to the hinge side as possible, to reduce potential sag. But you never know :notsure:

    Seeing the third gen section forced me to get a Ford...
    Talking about swing outs...I still have one from my old truck w/ ATO HC rear bumper if anyone needs one. Not sure what all would go into making it work on something not ATO aside from a latch catch and pin.
