I got some 2" wheel spacers for my truck via cragislist and I painted the hubs and the inside of the spacers black to match the wheels. I installed the rear ones and then took it for a test drive to make sure everything was good to go, and it was. Then I installed the front ones, went to take it for a drive and when I turn hard to either side, it rubbs like a son of a bitch. Now I'm out 100 bucks with 4 useless peices of shit.

Where is it rubbing? Thinking about doing the same thing myself and would like to know what I'm getting myself into.

Also, what wheels are you using? Know the backspacing by chance?

Get rid of the spaces/adapters, and get wheels with the correct off set.

I just put spidertrax 1.25" spacers and wheels with 5" backspacing on and all I had to trim was the bottom of the plastic inner fender by the cab and I beat the pinch weld down a little and it will go lock to lock without rubbing but I need to hammer on the pinch weld a little more because if I'm turning and hit a bump it rubs some.

    edit: I also have a 3" lift and 285/75s.

The tires are rubbing on the outer side, so when I turn hard driver, the driver front tire rubbs on the back part of the wheel well and vise versa. I looked and theres no way I can trim it because when I installed my bushwackers I had to cut the firewall and bend it back. Theres no more room to cut or bend anything.

I'm not sure what the offset of my wheels are but the front tires, with the spacers stuck out maybe an inch past my bushwackers, and the rear was a little less, maybe 3/4 inch?

And to jdtemple, I'm not getting rid of my wheels becasue I like them.

How much room do you have between your control arm and tire? If it is a good bit, I would try a smaller spacer.

you can trim the spacers as they actually make rubbing worse the thicker they are. kinda need a milling machine though. or you could take them to a machine shop and get them to cut a half inch or so off them and then see if they will work..

The tires rubbed tire UCA untill they got down to about 60%. Now theres only like a half inch gap between the two when it's just sitting.

Oh ok. Then yea, I would definitely try to either get those machined down some or sell them and buy some smaller ones.

That's what I'm gonna try to do. I'm pretty sure 1.5" spacers will work.
