anyways, i remember the tortured spongebob days when i looked after my nephews for my sister and that is ALL they ever wanted to watch

 

Had a pretty shitty start of the day. Pulled over at the scene of an accident. Grabbed my first aid kit but felt kind of useless because I didnt have anything in it to really dress this kind of wound. A lady ended up holding his head because it was cracked open and I just kind of sat there and held his hand as he clung to life. Paramedics carried him away and I hope he makes it but I'm not getting my hopes up. I'm going to update my kit and maybe take a first aid class. I dont ever want to feel useless again.

Damn, sorry you had to witness something like that, thats rough. Good first aid kits are expensive but well worth the coin in situations like this. I like the ones from www.theemsstore.com just havent invested in a full kit yet, right now I just keep a basic kit from walmart with me with the essentials of gauze, scissors, tape, cold compress and then band aids and ointments.

 

I’ve been considering going and getting my WFR cert (wilderness first responder), it’s a 10 day class. There’s also a wilderness first aid class (2 days).

I thought my first aid kit was pretty good until the first time I had to use it (on myself.. oops). I went straight to the store and stocked up and things I was missing

 

coworker who just got into the office said police were doing accident reconstruction. Which usually means the guy didn't make it.
