We lost it for about an hour around 1230, came downstairs at 3 to all my smart lighting on. Heard a couple branches snapping throughout the night.

Didn't lose it at my house. Apparently most of the town did though, they even cancelled school because none of them have power and don't expect it back on soon.

We are still out, I think the local elementary school is delayed but our high school has power. They took away our estimated restore time so that’s not too encouraging ha

Heard the winds are supposed to stay strong most of the day too. That's probably impacting the restoration

True, it is still gusty around here. The outtage map shows the issue being in the woods somewhere and not by a road, I’m wondering if some of the lines that go over the hills got hit. Oh well I guess we will get it back when we do, but I’d sure like my morning coffee

I don’t have a whole-house generator system. I have a small, dependable Honda inverter, which with using “demand management”‘techniques can keep the house (and coffee) going during power outages. It will run all day on a gallon of gas.

Wind and rain and branches bouncing off my window woke me up at 3:30 last night! Didn't lose power but I usually don't.

Whats everyone doing for the weekend? I'm choring and then have a wake on Sunday.

I have a small generator I’ve thought about pulling out for some coffee, but been lazy. We are wired for a whole house, I just don’t have the generator part, maybe will do for Christmas.
Sorry to hear about your loss, hopefully the wake goes okay.

we have our last wedding for the season and it’s smaller, so we are looking forward to that!

Lost a couple trees on the property, snapped clean in half. Bunch of limbs and branches down around The house and driveway. Large tree uprooted at the end of the street into the swamp. I’ll have to assess with the Stihl later on when stuff dries a little.

For where you live, you need a good old fashion French press coffee maker for days like today!

Damn, hopefully you didn't loose any beauties. The more time I spend outside and learning about plants and stuff, the more I start to really appreciate the old fella's still standing tall. We have a few really big guys that have started to show some signs of decay and it depresses me a little bit. It just takes soooo long to get so big. We've planted dozens of trees in the last few years, and more will follow, but I'll never live long enough to see them in their full glory :(

    I cheated

Went to our "silo suite" which has an auto generator running the building it is in, made a coffee and used the hot water:thumbsup: Of course when I walked into our house to enjoy the coffee, everything popped back on:annoyed:. Oh well, happy to have the power back!

We had some flickers but it stayed on. The town highschool has no power but has a FULL generator backup system? Who knew...So there is still school today. Horray for the haves! That reminds me I need some propane in case I need the generator...I think I've got my last full tank on the grill and 4 empties in the shed.
Just bought a brake kit for the wife's car...Rock Auto was $50+ cheaper than everyone...how do they do it. It's the same brand as the one I put on my truck and I've been very happy with it. Now I need some rail pads for my jack stands...stupid subaru...

Little after 2, kinda half woke up to the dog, shaking, and trying to climb INTO me somehow, while making the strangest whimpering/bark i have ever heard.... realized the it was LOUD, like feel it in the house loud, then a limb landed on the roof, and snapped me out of it... yelled for the kids to get downstairs.

By the time we got down there, it was done. Went out to see whats what.... grill and picnic tble moved across patio, outdoor stuff, barrels... that was one helluva gust...

No damage, though(at least that I could see in the dark), i will climb up when I get home, and double check.....and went back in to a cowering dog......

Needless to say, I have been up since 2, and have a mess to cleanup this weekend.

I HATE being woken up like that.

    No power loss though.....lol

Damn, yeah not a fun way to wake up at all! Grill or anything get damaged? We had outdoor heaters get blown over last year and were all messed up after, pretty much scrap.

Glad to hear everyone was okay besides some missed sleep.

The limb JUST missed my service... At least from what I can tell...

Yeah, I have no idea. Came to work, and will deal with it when I get home.
Kids didnt see anything sticking out of the roof when they went to school... So

    All is well either way.
