Yeah, Chronic Wasting Disease. (similar to Mad Cow Disease)
There have been cases reported here, though it's more of a concern out west.

Supposedly one should avoid eating tissue from the brain, spinal cord, eyes, spleen, tonsils, lymph nodes of affected deer.
Or anyway, such tissues from deer in known affected areas.

But as I understand it, an affected deer is likely gonna appear to be very obviously sick.

We've had quite a few cases in PA. So much so, that the PGC has implemented disease mgmt zones in approximately 25% of the state. The thing that really chaps my ass, is that every single case, every one, has been traced back to captive deer herds or "deer farms". Since the PA Dept of Agriculture oversees these "farms" the PGC claims they can't do anything.

Yeah, that's kinda perverse, but whatcha gonna do?
    I have the same problem.

Might as well joke about it (to deflect) when the busybodies just have to tell you how bad it is (like it's not common knowledge).
Instead of minding their own effing business.

    Yeah.
Apparently I'm a bit out of date on the severity of the problem.

When I was on the Board at my club, I waged a long running battle over the captive deer we had.
Supposedly it was for the kids to see them in their enclosure.
Like one can't see plenty deer around here in your own frigging back yard.

It was expensive to keep them.
The club finally did stop that after I resigned (upon getting my life membership for my years on the Board).
No more Saturday nights working Bingo for me. :p

My brother in law is a big music guy. Very knowledgeable about many many bands/artists.

I finally found something that would absolutely drive him insane.

One night we were at Beer Congress and they were talking about Bruce Springstein.

I causally look up and say, "I've never much cared for him, John Mellancamp is a much better artist, overall."

My BIL BLEW HIS TOP! I've never heard that many swear words in that short amount of time in my life.

To be honest, I do like Mellancamp better, but dont necessarily love either one. I live in Indiana, Mellancamp is a given here.

I've been looking at them for awhile. I have Tru-Glo 3 pin sight circa 2009. All aluminum. Solid as hell. Last year I bought a Montana Black Gold Widowmaker. Nice sight, like the threaded gang adjustment. Buzzes a bit.

The Tru-Glo was 50$, the MBG was $170. Guess which one I prefer?

How many times you pulled your horn today, bud? Oh, come on, kitten. I won't tell anyone.

Ball park six to eight? You're a fucking animal. Play a little five on one. Hit the kitchen, mix a batch. Feed the ducks. Distribute some free literature.
