Been quite awhile since I've been on here. Used to always use this forum for good info. & ideas for my Tacoma. I bought my DCSB new in '07, it was a Toyota executive's demo ride. I have babied this truck, but I now have an issue that needs attention. After returning home; I live in South Carolina; from a weekend at a North Carolina mountain lake I noticed what looked to be grey mud splattered all over my truck from my tires. I run 285/70/17 Destination AT's. After trying to wash this off, turns out it's cement or concrete not mud. Don't know where or when it happened, there was no signs or warnings along the trip. It's on the paint, windows, & caked on my side bars. Checking with my insurance co. on this. I also have paint wearing off on the roof, front fender cover & top edges of fender flares, this just from 13 yrs. of sun & weather. It's time for a complete paint job, & I'm also going to change up my suspension, as well as new wheels, after market fender flares & MT's when the AT's wear out. I just turned 125k miles. I had a body shop look at it & they said definitely needed sanded & repaint. I don't off road this truck, just like the look of a lifted truck. Anyone ever had this issue & if so was it a repaint problem?20190928_161714.jpg 20190928_161635.jpg 20190928_161646.jpg 20190928_161658.jpg 20190701_065040.jpg

You can use lacquer thinner to your heart's content to remove that. And don't let anyone tell you different. It's not acetone.

    Afterwards I'd re-wax that area.

A detail shop can get that off for you.

Thanks, I'll give it a try. Have you done this before? All I've tried is very hot soapy water & it did nothing. This stuff is hard.

I'd try everything before jumping to a repaint. Clay bar? Goo gone? Bug/Tar remover?

Yeah, I get what y'all are saying, but this is cured cement, it will destroy a clay bar. It will have to be something that will disolve cement & I would think it would destroy the paint as well.

I would also try posting this directly to the detailing thread out on the main page.

I had a similar situation and tried every high-end car care crud removal potion and nothing worked until I used some cheapshit Dollar Tree Goo Gone knock off. Worked like a charm and the paint is not affected. Hard to believe but it's only $1 at Dollar Tree Where Everything Is A Dollar lol.

Cement is only as good as the surface it’s attached to. Your paint is smooth and offers little grip for the cement. Try a pressure washer and most will likely come off.
