Cuz some property owners don't have a choice the public has to drive on their driveway in order to get to their house for an example

Which in that case there are all types of agreements made and easements created, especially for landlocked properties.

Got to hit the hay, night night all.

It is the discretion of the property owner

In those cases there are "passthrough" clauses on the property agreement/deeds. I know a couple in that situation. It had to be legally stipulated otherwise you can get blocked from a property lol. I'm not aware of any properties that are locked in without a "passthrough" clause on the deed/agreement.

Here's an example my friend's dad owns 50 acres on the other side of Kerrville their driveways about a quarter of a mile long from the county road to the house there's another driveway that goes off his driveway to another house next to their property and that property owner has to open his gate in order to get to his house

I don't know I'm just asking Josh cuz there's a lot of pass-through roads that will take you from one county road to the next but you got to drive across somebody's property

If it is a COUNTY road, the gate is likely for livestock, and should be left with no lock.
It it has a lock, past that point should be Private Road.
Also, purple paint indicators is Legal "No Trespassing" sign, regardless.

If it's a private road, you technically need permission, gate or not. Best thing is if it's in question, detour or don't Hoon around lol

It's to the discretion of the property owner if they don't want public traffic on their driveway or property than they have that choice

Yep, but it's as shame that we are only like #3 from the bottom of accessible government owned lands!

If the pass through is NOT county, and they have either locked a gate, or painted it purple, YOU cannot use the pass through. (without permissions)

I'd prefer a resource beyond the parks service that allows remote travel through ranch land, but i understand the livestock, poaching and trespass issue so I prefer the restrictions of less government owned land, personally.

Yes - ish. Be really great if some of the huge ranch owners would go "I need a trail along this here path; think I will holler at some truck groups and let them make it for me free of charge!"

Down here, the Feds deeded these huge tracts to keep it from Mexico. Out west, they kept the rights to the land, and lease it dirt cheap - a fact western ranchers hate - but tough. Public lands.

There's a general opinion of off-road groups that they cause damage, luckily groups like the leave no trace guys do good things with state/national parks.

I think ranchers could get an additional source of income and reduce costs of maintaining routes on their land by getting in contact with responsible off-road groups.

Most of that would be on a voluntary basis, with an agreement of travel/camping/access to that property.

Australians do that and have "tag along" private off-road tours on private land that brings an additional source of income (to the property owners) and also maintains a route of travel for traversing that remote terrain.
