Did a little snout support today out of old Trd static tensioner. Still needs a 2nd support leg to alternator, but a good start for now.

Starter is going out. Periodically getting one click when I try to start the truck. Have about 90k on this starter. Ordered a new one from Toyota. Pulled the old one this evening and it went weirdly smooth. I remember when I installed my headers thinking “man it’s gonna be a bitch replacing my starter”. The y pipe is literally 1/4-1/2 inch away from the top bolt of the starter. Had to unbolt some of the y pipe which was Actually pretty easy. Was able to only loosen and leave the hard to get flange bolts in place. Gave me just enough play to get the top Starter bolt. Going pick up the new starter in the morning. I probably could have replaced the starter contacts and plunger but it didn’t disengage a few times when It was acting up so I figured might as when replace the whole unit.

Can someone with an ARB do me a favor? Jack up the rear end and spin your tire, does it make the same sound? Thanks

I don't recall my air locker making any noise when I spun the tires by hand with it locked.

    I can check tomorrow though.

It only makes the sound when unlocked and not in gear, doesn't make any noise that I can detect while it's running. My initial thought was I must've bashed the copper air line into the ring gear when I reinstalled, but I can't feel anything when I turn the output by hand. It's not the wheel bearings, chocked up but wheels and spin the other, same sound. I'm at a loss and dont really don't feel like pulling the third for a third time.

I tried counting how many clunks I was getting to see if the count coincided with the gears in the locker, but I can only hear it while spinning at a decent rate.

Those have 40k miles on them? They look excellent. I'd easily guess that the engine cylinders are in very good shape. The plugs don't look oily at all. They don't look hot, or like they're run over temp. The porcelain around the center electrodes are nice and clean and uniform.
There's you an analysis, just be careful though, the analysis might only be worth what it costed you
