    The Newf is a very gentle "snuggly" breed but I've never let her in the bed. I think it would be to warm for a Newf. I've seen pictures of newfoundlands curled up sleeping in a snowstorm with a couple inches of snow on top of them.

    Newfs are strong swimmers, used for water rescue in some places. There's a rescue outfit in Italy that just tosses dogs out of a helicopter when they see someone in trouble.
