    Just did that, thanks.

My newest problem is that the buttons on the side of the unit don’t work anymore. Idk if I messed something up sticking the paper clip in to far looking for the reset switch or not. It’s always something, lol.

The procedure is a bit counter intuitive. Watch this video and you should be set.

Lol I’m going to try this morning but that should fix it. I had to fully reset it because I got a black screen of death ha. I’ve got it grounded correctly now. I’ve just been fucking with the settings seeing what does what, sometimes it’s for the good, sometimes not.

Quick Q for those with front and/or back anytime cameras going. What Android app do you use to view them? I know you can tie an app to a steering wheel control in settings and I want to set that up. I have the Nakita cam coming today for the front. Thanks in advance!

My installation ran into some hitches, so it isn't done yet. BUT, I have the same camera and was able to get it to work pretty quickly. On the headunit, there's an app called FCAM that pulls it right up. I didn't have the rear camera connected, but it looks like you can flip back and forth between the two. This could change once I finish.

I am still working on one of my crappy DIY videos for the installation of this. I'm at a standstill right now on it. While doing this, I was doing a couple of other things and I also decided to not use the Metra/Scosche dash kit. I ordered the brackets that are on Thingverse and am currently waiting on them to see if they work (they better). I think that's the last thing I'm waiting on.

Right on thanks. I used the Scosche brackets from Crutchfield. I had to trim them with snips to fit but they work great.

Oh, I started with it. At some point I cut off way too much and I was done. :D I still don't know where I went wrong. I was using my aftermarket headunit to compare. Same dash kit and the faces were the same shape and depth. I could just never get it to line up right inside the dash.

I hear you. I took a ridiculous number of measurements, and the picture in post #50 of this thread was super helpful.

Hi! For all the ones that have bought this unit, is it worth it? I’ve been reading this thread and fitting is painful but I’m good with that...

Whit what I am not that good is with electronics... is that part easy? Plug and play?

Is the performance of the unit nice? Sound? Screen quality?

I am going to use 99% of the time apple CarPlay. And I would want to still be able to use my factory gps..

    Any insight is greatly appreciated.

For those that have installed and use wireless CarPlay... how long from ignition until CarPlay is loaded? I’ve seen videos showing roughly 25 seconds to get to the Dasaita home screen

    thanks

Foe me, it is less about startup time of the unit and more about getting out of my home WiFi range. As long as your phone is on another network, it won't activate CarPlay. Once I get down the road and my home WiFi disconnects, then CarPlay starts right up.

It has been completely worth it for me. I'm a DIY'er like most here, and the install was completely PnP. This thread alone is a great resource. The performance blows Entune away, and the 9" capacative screen is amazing. I also use CarPlay and the Radio almost exclusively. I've had only one incident where the unit reset itself, and as a result I had to reset the clock. Other than that, it has been flawless, and at 1/3 the price of a comparable Pioneer/Kenwood/Alpine with Maestro, I could replace this unit two more times and still come out ahead. But as they say, YMMV.

Finally got this installed. PX6, built in car play, canbus, metra kit.

I feel good about it but have 3 issues so far.

    1. Metra kit hole placement is close but not right and requires new holes to sit exactly flush with bezel. Going to try the 3D printed brackets
    2. Buttons stopped working (haven’t tried resetting)
    3. I get intermittent static or interference that come through even when car is off... super annoying and not sure how to fix

I only put 1 screw into a top hole on each side to secure the brackets, thus letting me move the unit slightly up & down while setting the bezel. That little flexibility made it easy & it’s still secure with only 1 screw on each side. Post #622 in this thread fixed my buttons not working, also grounding to the suggestEd bolt inside the dash got rid of any static I had.

Do I need to order the harness or does it come with the radio already? I don't have JBL

    A bunch of smalls

    Here’s my take...

It is truly plug and play. The challenge is that there are no directions at all for installation and you have to figure out what to plug in where. This thread was such a great help for this.

Performance is SO much better then the entune unit. The screen is night and day better. I got the PX6 and the sound is leaps and bounds better. Unit is faster and much more responsive.

I use it pretty much exclusively with Apple CarPlay. Starts up quickly and I can’t say enough good things about it. I don’t use the unit’s gps because I use maps and Waze so there doesn’t seem to be any need. I bought the adapter that the OP recommended but that connection didn’t work for me for some reason.

So here’s the negative to me, a couple of days after installation I took my unit out to adjust the brackets. After reinstalling it my canbus seems to have died. Neither my steering wheel controls or backup camera work. I contacted them at their Ebay store and after going back and forth for a couple days I finally have a new canbus on the way. I ended up paying extra to get it shipped faster because I didn’t want to have to go a month without them working. I’m seriously concerned about how this thing will hold up and am also not crazy about the lack of quick support. If I had to do it again I would probably buy the joying unit that others purchased but maybe I’ll get it working again this week and feel differently because when it does work it’s amazing.

Yes you’ll need to buy a different canbus. It says it’s for jbl systems but works with non-jbl trucks.
