I thought I would introduce myself given that I've been a member for a hot minute and failed to introduce myself.

My name is Kurt and I'm in Salt Lake City, Utah. I bought my first Tacoma last May. An ole' 2005 MT 4cyl 4x4 with roughly 188,000 miles on it. I bought it more than what it was worth at the time, but it was an expensive lesson needed. I have gone to quite a bit of places with it and couldn't be happy.

When I bought it, here is what I had to do and what I chose to do to it in order.

    1. New UCA and ball joint on passenger side along with both sway bar bushings.
    2. New timing chain system with those components (gears, chains, etc), gaskets with those components along with new water pump, drive belt, thermostat, camshaft timing sensor and crank position sensor.
    3. Complete front brake replacement (rotors, pads, calipers, brake fluid change/flush).
    4. Front and back differential fluid change, transfer case fluid change and MT fluid change.
    5. New set of tires, running Discount Tire's Pathfinder line. 265/75/R16 E rated.

The new timing chain repair really cost me and the UCA with all that almost tipped me over. She runs great and my investment this far in is really high. I've driven in multiple times on trips 300+ miles, around and back.

In hindsight, knowing what I know now. Part of me would have liked them to change the head gasket since they were already that deep in the engine. I don't know if the head gasket has been replaced or not.
